First of all, you do need to improve your writing skills so that people can "get" what you are trying to say without re-reading your argument several times. Secondly, God has nothing to do with the way...  read more...

1. Stupid sexist idea and one that even most of the men on the site seem to be against given that so many voted on this side. I think you would actually be bored without us women. We provide the fodder for your sexist comments....nah, the site needs women even if only to temper some of the things you say. read more...

2. Fortunately, we do not live in a society full of sociopaths. Yes, there are those out there who truly lack any remorse and who do not have the capacity to view others as human beings, but that is a personality disorder and the behavior you have described applies to people who are self absorbed and don't take the time to think of others before they act. Most of those people do, in fact, understand how others are impacted by their actions and some may not care. A sociopath cannot feel empathy nor have any guilt or remorse for hurting others either verbally or physically. The majority of sociopaths are not murderers, but can simply appear cold, calculated, manipulative and they don't have a great history of maintaining any close friendships because of their lack of ability to feel guilt and act in the appropriate manner when they have hurt someone close to them. read more...

4. People are raised with all different belief systems. There are many religions and I can't possibly be closed minded enough to believe that only one religion or even one belief among Christians is reasonable. Where Christianity is concerned, I think that there are many ways that the Bible is interpreted. In fact, I think that some passages of scripture may even mean something different to the same person at different times in their life. One may read one verse and not be as moved by that verse at one point, only to find later that it has a lot more meaning during a different period in their life. The only exception for me is that I find it very hard to understand how some people who proclaim to be Christian can express such hatred. That will never make sense to me. Because I don't have much in depth knowledge of other religions, I can't really put into words why I feel they are valid and why I completely respect those who practice other religions, except to say that I believe that God (regardless of the name He is called in differing religions) is the same God and that He loves all of His children. None of us are unloved by God and, although I am more than happy to discuss my religious beliefs, I don't feel that forcing them on others is something that God wants nor do I think it would work. People need to be free to come to their own conclusions about God and religion. If everyone could respect each others differences and seek greater understanding of those differences, there would be much less of the hatred and contempt that comes between differing beliefs. I cannot see how anyone could disagree with this debate unless they are so closed minded as to believe that they are the only individual with some special God given ability to know what He intends for every single person in the world and that would be impossible. To have faith in God (or any other name one chooses to use to refer to Him) is highly personal. I love God and I love others...to me that is how I believe God wants me to live my life, but I also believe that my ability to empathize and see others' beliefs as valid is a gift from God. I can't take credit for what I feel God has put in my heart. Many people may feel I'm not a good Christian because I don't attend church every Sunday or for other reasons personal to them and I'm fine with that because the only "person" I feel I have to be true to where my faith is concerned is God. I suspect that others feel the same. They please God in whatever method they believe He has impressed in their mind and in their heart. read more...

5. It is just horrific how those vegetarians murder all of those poor veggies....breaks my heart...LOL. People should eat whatever it is they like and try to maintain a balanced diet, but that can be accomplished without eating meat. Regardless of whether one eats healthfully or not, everyone has the right to eat what they wish. There is no reason to make any eating habit illegal. Well, school lunches could be made from real food...that would be nice. read more...

Hey Hallie, sorry I didn't notice your new comment. Um.. we were not home when the buglers came a' callin', well except the cat. She was quite traumatized. My dog passed away at the end of the summer. He lived a long full life of 18 years but for all the points of the compass there is only one direction and time is its measure. So anyway how’s life in your neck of the woods?

Hall, sorry to hear your mom is not doing so well. I don't get on here much either, but my heart reaches out to you. This was a tough week here, so I have not been on.

Doing pretty good, looking forward to our churches Northwest Confrence meeting, which is held at the church here in Graham, preachers from our churches across the country and a few from the churches in other countries come up here and preach. It's a real blessing because for one I don't have the money to fly out to the other confrences and for another I get to see people I haven't seen in a while and also some I have never met from different churches.

Hey Hallie! Hope things are going well for you. i have been sad. One daycare kid's dad had been cut hours and she is leaving and another got an early admittance to a preschool for gited children and will be leaving on the 13th. Losing them is a huge finacial blow, not to mention I have had them since they were a few weeks old and will miss them terribly.
by Golfelda on 30 Oct 2009 15:01:16
Sure no prob, just deleted it :). Doing pretty good, some time here in November it will be 2 years that I have been working at Parkland Chevrolet. Really sorry to hear about your mom :(. Best thing to do is keep praying. I know, easy for me to say, but short of praying and putting the situation in God's hands there's really nothing at all we can do within our own power; God will take her home when it's her time. - Dan

Sounds like you have been really busy. My son's metal band won a battle of the bands last night and it came with a cash prize, headline benifits at the club and enought studio time to get a CD made. So they are really excited.
