1. No, the knowledge wouldn't increase, the time taken to learn the knowledge would decrease. But I wouldn't say it would be significant. Besides, we all need holidays, but kids are very likely to act out violently if they don't get the rest they need. read more...

2. Personally I think that school times should be shifted slightly. It should start and end a bit later. But as for six days a week? No. We need free time as well. For example, I have rugby training Tuesday and Thursday and a game on Sunday. So if they made Saturday an extra school day the rugby team wouldn't have a day to do just nothing. And if it were a Sunday that was added to the school week then we wouldn't be as rested as usual for the games. But that's just my opinion. read more...

I enjoyed debating with you last night, you are very good!

I myself am a Christian, and still I feel that using God to state one’s case has no place in a debate unless the debate is about God. Or it becomes a three-ring circus. Since no one really knows God, those who use God in a debate can really say anything they want and ascribe it to God. It is an udebate-like and facile way to stymie the opposing group.

"If we were meant to change then he would've given us that ability." That is a totally bogus argument. It makes as much dumb sense as, "If God wanted us to wear shoes, he would have made them already on our feet", or, "If God wanted us to have operations, our bodies would do it themselves", or "If God wanted us to ride, we would have wheels on our feet".

Ad hominem: to the (individual) man, i.e. relating to the principles or preferences of a particular person rather than to abstract truth or logical cogency. Some answers, and arguments are ad hominem, that is, they respect the thing in question, not simply, but as it commeth from such a man!....;-)

A word to the wise, if you don't understand a word then look it up yourself, better still make a significant note about that new particular word if it grabs your attention, not only will you then know what it correctly means, you will have learnt something new all by yourself. Only then will your begin to progress in philosophy! 99% of people haven't got a clue what they are on about anyways!....;-)

I think I like your style too. In my book you might be right up there with Bugman and Moreno. Of course, no one is as high on my list as LD. :)

I think you are good at debating, you just need to work on facts to sound even smarter! :D
by -_- on 24 Mar 2009 03:11:13
your effort to appear intelligent is being misused by getting personal. this is not what debate is for: keep your catty-personal views to your self , and just debate from an impersonal and professional stance. thank you.

Let your friend say what he or she wants to say, try and respect what they believe. I don't try to shoot down creationist; I just try to educate them. A person can tell me what they believe in and I can respect that. But if they start misusing science I try to tell them right from wrong.
by Andromeda on 14 Oct 2008 01:30:37
It’s a big shame, and it's sad. Oh well, there's nothing you can do about it. You can keep trying to educate and that’s about it.
by Andromeda on 13 Oct 2008 00:48:55
Certainly. Go ahead.

No problem.. Just keep learning. sometimes getting your opponent angry helps you win the debate.
