1. Perhaps. Christmas itself as a holiday, including many of the traditional concepts and acts, was derived from pagan roots. This is an example of the successor overshadowing the predecessor. Easter not so much. read more...

Do you know Japanese? I'm considering choosing it as one of the languages to learn sometime in my life, but I wonder if learning it will make it lose it's mystique.
by Stranger on 22 Apr 2011 23:20:15
I have yahoo. I don't think I have Windows Live Messenger.

I was just about to leave for the day when I saw your comment in the "box." For later. I have an essay to do about Spanish racism. Those Spanish!

It's March. It's the anniversary of your arrival here on ForandAgainst. February is mine. Let's celebrate by sparing the hours we would be wasting here, putting them to good use instead.

Hizashi, I added something to the Christianity debate.

You may notice that many problems in the world arise from using the same terms but with different meanings. Once again, I'm sorry for disappointing you again.

"Creationism/Intelligent Design can’t be tested, which is why it isn’t science." If you can't prove the BB theory but only support it with tests of its predictions, then why not ID/Creationism? Just because it has the label "religious"? This is why I considered "test" to be the ultimate test of proof, not one that amounts to evidence for it, for ID has evidence for it.
by Stranger on 25 Dec 2010 00:58:11
Another mistake of mine was to agree to read all the links despite most of them not even pertaining to the BB/speciation. I felt like an idiot reading the entropy links when no test would be found in them for sure.
by Stranger on 25 Dec 2010 00:46:58
In April of 2008, I printed out the geocities page titled "Does Evolution Violate the Laws of Thermodynamics?" That's one I read, but the other geocity link(s) are lost 'cause geocities is "no longer available" according to Yahoo.
by Stranger on 25 Dec 2010 00:40:14
In case you didn't get what I said, just that ONE link was PAGES long. SEPARATE LONG ONES at that. I mean, the big bang article on talkorigins was pages long, but the macroevolution one is exponentially longer, and I timed my studying wrong so that I can't do it. While you think I am a failure, I can still show it to be unscientific, as I have already done. Watch.
by Stranger on 25 Dec 2010 00:34:05
While I COULD stay here arguing further for the unscientificness of speciation based on its subjectivity due to its subjective definition, it takes time I have only in inconsistent intervals. I could still do that, I suppose.
by Stranger on 25 Dec 2010 00:30:30
Not only that, I was reading ahead and it said that a test was one of predictions of a theory, which made me realize that the tests I asked for were tests to prove, rather than tests to support. So, since a "theory" isn't "proven," -except for gravity (details aside) which is proven- my argument won't work as I planned. Cont.

... I see that I can't tomorrow. And since school starts very soon and I must not divide my attention greatly, I have to postpone yet again, disappointing not only you but me also.
by Stranger on 25 Dec 2010 00:18:40
I read most of the links (a few or just 1 being unavailable now because geocities, I think it's called, is extinct now), and thought that by tomorrow I could finish reading, but looking ahead at the talkorigins macro-evolution links of 29 pages (for just one)...

Yo, what up, Shiz Hiz? My semester be over. I be off the chain now and ready for more.. homework. This is probably the 10th time I've used the word "YO" in my life. Excluding "yo-yo."

Hizashi: one of my major frustrations is no longer being able to access Medline or Psychlit or other research articles on line. I haven't even been allowed access to old articles from Science, although they swore if I filled out their lengthy information form, I could. What am I doing wrong?
by Lynn on 30 Nov 2010 14:11:54
Small world.

You realize it's about to be 5 in the morning and we're here arguing? I'm leaving soon and tomorrow I have homework, so if I come, it should be brief.
