Yeah, I'm not saying it's a rule of behavior though. I'm just saying the people most passionate against homosexuality usually have a personal reason, that reason can be latent homosexuality but of course... read more...

On the one hand you are fully within your right as a roommate to expect mutual courtesy. If you were to consider their sex offensive or disruptive to your sleep then yes you should say something. But... read more...

It's an act of aggression. Even if the first time it falls under the umbrella of an act of humor the fact it is repeated again and again despite your wishes makes it a textbook case of aggression. read more... |

I appreciate the general concept behind your post - that extremism is scarry and destructive regardless of which extreme they are taking it to - and I'd agree with that much, but 1) it is the very nature of extremism to reject all views not matching their own extreme, which means there is no chance they'll ever see each other as truly the same, and 2) It's an oversimplification to point to just one or two character traits and then say they're the same. A totalitarian communist and a totalitarian fascist and a messianic cult leader all share some common behaviors but what each stands for is dramatically different. It's analogous to saying sharks and lions and mosquitos are all the same because they usually attack in packs. Not very accurate. read more... |

I'm not pro-Muslim, in fact I'll agree in our present time the many terrorist actions of Muslims makes them more responsible than any other socio-cultural-ethnic group for many domestic and international conflicts than any other group I can think of.
BUT, it's not all Muslims, it's only some, and there are plenty of Christians for example who say and do things I don't agree with either and I'd appreciate not being lumped in with anger against them. My voice may try to sway them but I'm not ultimately responsible for physically stopping the other Christians, and the same would be true for Muslims. Furthermore, I strongly disagree that we would have utopia if there were no Muslims. There will alway, ALWAYS, be conflicts between groups of people, removing the Muslims from the equation would just leave a void for someone else to step in and fill. read more... |

I think "meh" is an expression of grace - a sort of "just let it go" mentality, and grace is one of the glues that helps hold civilization together. read more... |
