Your IQ, Based On The Current System Should Not Affect Anything Major.
Our current IQ tests are limited because because there is too much focus in arithmetic areas. This is a strict interpretation of Intelligence and says that only select few people can be "Intelligent." There are a lot of people who do terrible on IQ tests but have gone on to be teachers, doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs etc. Unless it is amended, it should not affect things like what job you will get, what college you will go to, and what organizations will be a part of.

While I agree that a low IQ should not keep someone from accomplishing something they otherwise could, I don't think the tests are that bad. IQ tests are meant to find how complicated the concepts are that one can understand. Arithmetic is very simple; if one can't understand that, then their IQ is low.

 That is not true, how can someone whose not so good at math but excellent at History have low intelligence? People are different so they do well in different areas.

I don't think IQ test do control much of what happens to you. Trust me just about anywhere in life people are much more interested in what you know and do than what score you got on your IQ test.

Math is pure logic because it uses very little outside knowledge. The thing you aren't getting is that experience is greater then IQ. If i have a doctor who has a 100 iq but has 20 years of experience and a doctor with 150 iq and no years of experience who will probably do better in the doctors office.

While it is true that correlation does not prove causation, it's also true that the more accomplished people tend to have higher IQs. IQ scores may not prove success, but they are a far better gauge of intelligence and ability than any other commonly used measure.

There's an old saying, I believe attributed to Frank Zappa:
"The Earth's collective intelligence is a constant. The population is growing."

.I agree because there are many different types of intelligences and it is impossible to measure one's true intelligence by one test. One person might be a genius in one area and totally oblivious in other areas. IQ tests do not really test one's true intelligence. No one should trust in their results. They only show you are smart in particular areas.

I might be speaking out of ignorance, but what IQ does George Bush have, and he is leader of the free world? I would much rather see a president in America who at least looks clever. In our current system, your IQ appears to be more of a negative effect than a positive one.
