Most of the things an average person drinks (excluding water) contain water, such as soda, some
juices, and milk. Also, many plants such as lettuce (especially iceburg) contain water. So if you
were to cut plain water out of your diet, you would not die of dehydration. |

Your argument is based in tautology. Dying of dehydration has nothing to do with being healthy. To
try to draw them together is erroneous because lots of unhealthy people will never have to worry
about dehydration. Also healthy people have lots more to worry about besides staying hydrated.
Staying hydrated is not a part of staying healthy, just like staying alive is not a part of staying
hydrated.
So it isn't that i disagree with either statement. Rather i disagree with how you think you've
presented a debate. It's the equivalent of saying:
You are not a high school graduate unless you have graduated high school.
You have provided an honest health tip not a basis of debate.

I have heard that you can live for quite a while without taking water by mouth if you eat lots of
carbohydrates, which fill the body with water. That is why carb eaters get heavy--their bodies are
waterlogged. Actually some health officials say that water taken by mouth will not hydrate someone
quickly enough who has lost excess water. Two men died of dehydration recently in the desert near
where I live. They had lots of water with them, which they had been drinking. Drinking the water
did not hydrate them fast enough. Eating carbs before might have kept them hydrated, but I really
don't know. |

Sure, water is essential, but I'm only disagreeing with the argument you have to "drink" it.
Actually by eating certain plants that store water you can still get enough to survive. In the
desserts of the Southwest both people and wildlife have been known to survive significant lengths of
time on cactus. |

Refrain from drinking for one month and post the results of your experiment here, if you please. |

I disagree. Such a statement cannot be proven. |
