I agree to some aspect, we need to stop the animal abuse, i work for pueblo colorado animal rescue
mission and i see all kinds of things. However, i disagree in one aspect, we do need a license to
own a certain breed of dog, but we also need to pass a full background check and all of that as
well!!! |

People do not have time to take care of their dogs and some people think dogs are dirty because of
the droppings so the owner simply abandon their dogs that's where strait dog came |

Yes. Many people do not have the money, time, or the ability to take care of a dog, and the dog is
unable to live in a proper environment. The license should regulate the amount of dogs you own, and
when you take them in to the vet and so on. |

I agree with this debate (although your statement is not really written in a debate form). Every dog
owner should get a dog license for their dog. They should also take the dog to the vet for a yearly
check up as well. If you are going to get a dog, then one should take the responsibility of taking
care of it. If you are unable or unwilling to care for the dog, then you should not get one. A
license is a must for every dog and anyone who does not have one should be fined; and they should
remove the dog from the owner. |

Ya and maybe we can have a license to watch TV hell no that is stupid i mean the population of
people owning dogs would drop like that |

And how would you decide on a person's fitness to own a dog? Given the number of dogs people have,
you would need to set up a huge bureaucracy to police it. It just seems ludicrous and excessive.
Better to keep the existing system and prosecute cases of abuse individually in my opinion. |
