Some Flowers Can Be Food
Violets for example, can be eaten as a salad, or cooked like spinach, or candied.

And the essences of flowers are wonderful for flavorings, too. My church uses orange flower water and rose water to flavor communion bread. I once had a rose petal sundae in a Mideast restaurant near my home. It was made with rose water-flavored ice cream, sugared rose petals and jam made from rose petals. I have never tasted anything so divine. If you have never tasted rose water for cooking, you do not know what you are missing.

Chamomile flowers, roses and other flowers are also used to make tea
