So you believe in a person's right to their sexuality but say that they are not equal to others and
can't be married. Sorry but my U.S. History reads that all are created equal and if the law allows
1 to be married it should allow all to do so. |

Not in church you can't. Marriage is a religious act of declaration to follow God's ways for
relationships. There is always civil unions for those wishing only for a mere legality of
recognition from the State.
These could be better defined as different types of marriage of you will....in a way. |

I think that a church should be allowed to make their own decisions in and within their own
congregation. Legally however I think that two competent consenting adults should be able to get
married if they wish. They just might have to go to a different church or to the courthouse. |

No. Sexual/physical relationships should only be between one man and one woman. |

I do not understand why it upsets so many people,
if its against 'god' then fine, and if he is forgive as 'they' say, then the gays will be forgiven,
if not then the gays will 'burn' in hell, but then they can all be together.
But for society, what the hell is the problem?
If it upsets you do not watch, we see girls holding hands all the time, and we just assume that they
are just friends, two guys hold hands and "OH MY GOODNESS' they're gay, how awful...
Get over it
we cannot control who we love, biggie |

Yeah anyone can be gay if they like
and they CAN get married if they like (or civil partnership) in England
it shouldn't be restricted by gender issues |

They can and so they should be able to, just the same as anyone else. No one says you have to like
it but why is it so important to you to be so against 2 adults who love each other to marry, it has
no affect on you whatsoever. |

There is no rational reason to deny gay marriage. We have something in this country called
EQUALITY. Ever hear of it? Two consenting adults should be able to be married if they wish to be
and whichever genders those people happen to be is irrelevant.
Please explain on what basis, in the SECULAR SOCIETY that we have, you can deny gay marriage? |

Um, yeah we can. In my state we can. Oh and by the way, thanks for letting me be gay, i really
appreciate that.
Marriage is something that is constantly being redefined. Marriage out of love is a relatively new
experience. In certain parts of the world, marriage means different things and brings in different
elements. As our culture changes, so to the definitions of our cultural traditions.
This is what drives me nuts about the US. On most things the state is to take a back seat in our
lives, that's part of our culture and heritage. However, only certain areas of our lives, but in
the bedroom, and with relationships it isn't true. No seatbelt laws for personal liberties, but
gays: Don't you get married.
By the way, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has survived so far; in fact it's been a major yawn. |
