I believe that is true because humans have an uncontrollable desire for things we can't have. We can
mimic a rainbow using a prism, but we cannot physically capture it. |

The reason we value rainbows so much is because we can't bottle them. |

Sander, I think you missed the point. The statement is figurative.
I am not entirely convinced that this is all a negative thing. I do agree with the statement
though. I will agree that our motivations are not always honorable as human beings, but I also do
not believe our exploitations are always based in the negative.
We are by nature a pretty curious animal. We are constantly on a quest to discover something new.
The enterprising nature of humans has produced far more good in this world than evil, regardless of
our motivations.
Is it wrong for exploitation of discovery to be profitable? No. In fact, profitability ensures
continued discovery.
I think the thing many of us end up disgusted with, is that in our quest for discovery, nothing
seems sacred any longer. We've become a pretty relentless species. Discovery can always be
justified. Holding something sacred is often seen as getting in the way of progress. |

No offense sander, from the opposing side, but you're wrong.
That's not ALL a rainbow is. A rainbow requires the suns rays also. And though it may be possible
CLONE a rainbow and put it in a cage, its currently impossible to make a real rainbow as the one
the nature creates.
But when it does become possible, i can guarantee humans will have rainbows in museums. Because
that's why they do. Turn every part of nature into something less unique. |

Sure. In fact we may find out some day that the secret they've held locked up in Area 51 all these
years is actually... A rainbow. For maybe it's the Leprechaun and gold they found hidden at the
foot of the rainbow?
Anyway, if we can catch something we will. If we can display it or make a profit off of it we will. |

It's good to see I'm not the only one who thinks the human race has become very money centred. |

Undoubtedly someone would, and if there was any money to be made out of it, they would be queuing
up. |
