World Peace Is Impossible To Attain.
People often say that "if we did this, there would be world peace", or "world peace must happen if we are to live in harmony". But, realistically, it is unattainable. People will always fight, there's no way around it.

I believe it is people like you who don't help world peace. It is obtainable, if only we ALL try.

It is quite possible. For ther to be world peace there must be no one on it. Because human beings will fight over land to the death. Its always about owning land but innocent people should die for the disgusting earth yea peace cannot be obtained with out the finalizing of the apocalypse

People are not equal, that is all that needs to be said.

To make it easy to understand

jenny has a new watch charlotte is jelous and steals the watch

saudi arabia has a huge reserve of oil Iraq is jelous and annexes the oil fields

to me this just sums the whole thing up

The only way that you could attain it is to wipe everyone off the face of the earth, which no one will ever attempt and so it will never be a peaceful place.

Which side would that be? The side with the forgotten nuclear launch button that has been precariously left there?

It is very sad, but true. World peace is impossible to obtain. This is because of all of the hatred in the world. There are too many people out there who are racist, sexist, and just hate people all together. Hate is sin, and people do it without thinking. There are some people who hate others so much that their hate would not change even if the hated person was dead. So, as long as there are people out there who hate other people then there will never be world peace. No person is perfect and until everyone in the world accepts that, then forget world peace. We need to learn to accept others and enjoy the fact that no two people are the same.

It isn't religion, it isn't race, it isn't land, it isn't any of that. It is the nature of man. Most of us are in conflict within ourselves, and within our own little worlds. There will be those who will want to dominate and subjugate, there will be those who will hate and want to hurt others. It is rising above those instinctual drives that elevates the individual. Unfortunately i do not see the world rising up against their natural impulses, but rather the individual will be the exception to the rule.

Don't you think, though, that we could attain official world peace, if only for a short while?

Sad but true. World peace would require perfect understanding of one another, perfect respect for others, and perfect forgiveness. It's almost as unlikely as finding a perfect person.-----------well, I guess there was one perfect person in history, and look what the world did to Him.

It's just wishful thinking. We as a race are imperfect and we will never live completely in peace.

There will never be world peace. The only way for this to even be remotely possible is if everyone had the same exact viewpoints and made a pact to be "forever nice to each other; to be BFFs!" I believe that the Soviet Union tried this theory with communism. If my memory serves me right, it didn't work out too well...

ibanex_87, this may be the only thing you and I will ever agree on. By the way, does ibanex stand for the guitar Ibanez? I'm just curious because I happen to own an Ibanez.

There never will be entire peace. People, unfortunately, are too greedy and in some cases just sadistic. People will always want what's easiest and best for them, people who oppose this will initiate conflict between the two parties.

I disagree with the wording of the motion.

I think 'world peace' could most certainly be attained, but not sustained. There is a difference.

However, it depends what you mean by 'world peace'. Perhaps we could come to a stage where no countries were officially at war, but then you could interpret 'peace' as a lack of unofficial conflict, which is definitely unattainable.

I presume that you are referring to the impossibility of the absence of a certified war raging in the world, though, as you don't specify.

Apologies. I refer to a world devoid of conflict between human beings. Conflict of any kind.

Europe used to be the most war-obsessed continent on Earth. Its countries were always "mobilising" their armies against one another. Now the core countries of the European continent live peaceably together and the idea of war between them seems ludicrous.

What happened here can happen elsewhere, hopefully without the mass slaughter which brought this change in consciousness about.

Although it may not be possible at this moment in time, in the future it is a possibility if the human race ascends to a higher plane of existence and thought. Such an existence is currently inconceivable to us, but would enable all of humanity to care about each other.

It is more likely that humanity will degenerate into a race of materialistic and socially inept people that will not care for each other at all.

Not true if we were to kill all the people in the world including ourselves there would be plenty of world peace to go around.
