Women Should Be Allowed To 'pass Gas' In Public
OK. So if a man farts in public then everyone laughs hahaha so funny. If i woman does it silence descends in the room. It's stupid. We have the same bodily functions. Who cares if it's not 'lady like'?

I don't see why not. People would understandably react differently to a woman farting in comparison to a man as it is very rare for this to occur. To be honest I don't care where I fart as long as the pressure is releaved from my bowels. I even have a way of farting silently if it is too quiet. Anyway, there should be no reason why they can't.

The topic is trying to avoid a double standard in farting rights. I don't see it as saying it's right to fart in public, just that it shouldn't be funny when a man does it yet offensive if a woman does it. I can agree with that.

Also sometimes there are fair reasons for the fart. If someone is genuinely sick and trying to avoid puking or pooing then an accidental fart is the least of your concerns. Or if you're all trapped on a bus or train and can't get out or to a bathroom then it's still unpleasant but not inexcusable to fart.

Finally, I agree with keepmindok's comment that women do fart in public but never admit it. I've been standing next to women on subway trains who I knew with no doubt whatsoever had just cut one and then seen them look around and stare at some man nearby like they're accusing him of being guilty of it. Frankly I've smelled more subway farts that seemed to come from women than from male counterparts. Because let's face it the men know they're going to get blamed and scorned for it so they may deliberately hold it whereas the women seem to think no one will suspect a thing so they do what they like.

 When I am with a group, if I feel the need to fart, I will excuse myself and come back deflated and comfy. If a toot escapes with guests, I will ALWAYS say, "Oh, excuse me." If a woman is so rude, she will not acknowledge something as basic as a fart, realize she is probably sneaky in other ways, too. If a woman farts and admits it, she is honest and down-to-earth. That's the gal for you. Feed her beans and wait for the "fart admitting test."

The reason silence descends on the crowd is nobody wants to breathe. Since women are always holding their gas in, it builds up a terrible stink. Men get it out before it gets intolerable.

I don't laugh when guys do it either, i just don't think it's polite for ANYONE to do it. Plus, most the time, people i know are laughing at the guy, not with them.
