Proven by the title of your debate, "stupider" and "ruder" are not words. |

I agree. But I don't really blame them. Look at the world back in the days. There were alot more
things that kids could be doing. Advances in technology are partially to blame while the rest lies
with the parents. |

Not really... You have to look at indviduals not at the average... |
| |
|

Not all of them. It all depends on how their parents raise them. |

"Stupider" is just plain wrong. It's simply the increasing contrast between you and the kids. It's
like when kids in higher grades say "they're getting shorter every year".
As far as "ruder" goes, you may have a point, but there was a great obsession with formality 100
years ago, and kids are still generally respectful towards adults, though not addressing them as sir
or ma'am.
At least that's the case in Victoria. :) |

I disagree.
Simply because I don't call people Sir or Ma'am doesn't mean I'm not a polite person.
I hold doors open for others, and do my best to say please and thank you.
And while I admit that I don't do too well sometimes, we're not infallible.
The kids 100 years ago were either perfect or severely punished. |

You're generalising too much. Not addressing everyone as "Sir" or "Ma'am" doesn't imply rudeness.
It's just that times change. Have you met every member of every generation and gotten to know each
individual properly? THEN you can judge. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
How can you say such a thing?!?! Shakespeare.......Einstein.......Hawkins.......NOT IN THE SAME
GENERATION!!!!! Yet apparently one is "stupider" and "ruder" (which aren't words). Point proven. |

No. The kids that don't want to learn are getting stupider and ruder.. |

Every teenage generation is bad; it's just that the definition of "bad" has changed. Bad a hundred
years ago was showing your legs, and I bet loads of teens back then did that. Heck, adults did that
back then. And as said by Andromeda, we are products of our environment; a lot of kids are raised
in bad homes, and thus are not guided in what is socially acceptable. Also, why do you say we are
dumb when we know more about computers and technology than anyone else? People are just
overexaggerating; give us our time and we'll be fine. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
No, it just seems that way to adults because with each generation, kids become more
misunderstood.
With technology advancing more rapidly all the time, parents become more and more out of touch. Each
generation of parents has a worse understanding of their children's world than the last. |

I don't believe in calling my parents sir and mam. It's a respectful default name for someone whose
name you don't know. I'd be insulted if my son called me sir. |

I'm not rude to my parents, nor do I have no respect for them. Also, I am definitely not stupid
either. |

I disagree with this mainly because you should have said some kids. Not all kids are disrespectful
it simply depends on how they are raised. If a child is raised by parents who will teach the child
manners then they will grow to respect others. Don't blame the child, blame the parents. Also
parents need to watch who there child hangs out with; there are a lot of bad influences out there. |
