Wisdom, is APPLIED Knowledge ;-)
but I vote for Understanding, because understanding is half the battle. And Discretion is the better
part of Valour.

Wisdom and Knowledge are requisites and products of each other. One is not more important than the
other, and they must coexist for any real progress to be made.
Wisdom is the application of knowledge. Knowledge is information perceived as truth.
Therefore, wisdom is the application of perceived truths - timely action. If one acts accordingly,
one gains experience and wisdom and knowledge. |

Here is where I disagree. You cannot have wisdom without knowledge. Because you can have knowledge,
but it is wisdom that lets you act upon that knowledge.
For instance, you have the knowledge that the stove is hot, wisdom will keep you from touching the
stove so that you don't burn yourself. So by saying that wisdom is better then knowledge is false.
You cannot have one without the other, so therefore one cannot be better then the other.
Knowledge without wisdom means that you are in the know about a lot of things, but your actions
always leave you looking dumb, because you do not act on the knowledge you have by employing
wisdom.
Wisdom without knowledge just does not exist. What are you wise about if you don't have the
knowledge needed to show your wisdom?!
That is why I'm against this statement. Because you need them both, meaning they are of the same
value. Neither one is better then the other.
With a proper view, and definition of the two, you could better know the value of each one. Coming
to the same conclusion I just did. |

Wisdom never got anyone a highly paid job. Where family and friends are concerned, wisdom can offer
invaluable benefits of experience, but in the real world, knowledge counts. |
