The UK Government Will Realise Banning A Specific Breed Dog Is Useless!!
Look at the stats, 1991 John major took an easy option and decided to ban 4 specific breeds : # the Pit Bull Terrier # the Japanese tosa # the Dogo Argentino # the Fila Brasileiro Today we still have the same problem with dog attacks!! Heck I should imagine the numbers have actually increased. Why does Gordon brown not realise it was a mistake? Gutless man has no education on such problems is why. This country needs to revise it's laws on such acts and do the right thing. Who here agrees with me that our government have it all wrong??

How on earth will banning breeding a specific type solve the problem, how will it be enforced, how will people be stopped. In the past dogs were bred for a specific duty this is now the modern era. Case in point the police are now using rottweilers because the traditional Alsations are seem as too passive since they are now being bred to be family pets. Owners are the cause of violent dogs not the dogs themselves

Banning breeds that are shown to be the most dangerous, and it is true that certain breeds are statistically more likely to injure, is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. It matters not whether it is the breed itself or if it is the owner who is at fault, which it could well be as the breed of the dog may influence the way people treat it or train it whether they realise it or not. The fact that certain breeds of dog are shown to cause more injury is reason enough to regulate their breeding/ownership and it is meaningless if the dog has an inherent aggresivenessis or whether it is the owners 'conforming' their training practices in such a way that produces the temprement that is stereotypical of the breed.

INTER-BREEDING! Dogs are bred for specific reasons. The Pit Bull is designed to fight in a pit. There's a big difference between a domestic dog and a wolf, but the same instinct in many cases is still there! Owners also have a lot to do with it, too. As they are looked upon as Alpha Guide Dog by their dogs!

 Un-educated view, pitbull is an ANIMAL JUST LIKE A POODLE!! when will people realise the only problem is the owners not the actually animal?

Please tell me, if this breed are so dangerous why on earth can one single man have a pack of 40 dogs consisting of 7 pitbulls without any problems what so ever?

So what do you suggest? Ban all dogs? It of course makes sense to ban breeds with a high propensity to violence. The problem isn't the law but the lax enforcement.

Sorry. I don't know anything about stats in England, and if attacks did increase after bans I find that interesting, but here in New England the vast majority of dog attacks are simply pit bulls. There are cases of perfectly behaved well cared for and carefully trained pitbulls which suddenly attack their owner for no reason while they're sitting in the bathroom. I'm not saying the dog shouldn't exist anywhere, but I'm saying that particular breed should not be kept in major population centers where a mad dog can do fallacious damage.
