Cooking has been done for years and fast food is just an excuse for peoples "busy schedules" |
| |

|
I would not say it's bad but a nice home cooked dinner is nice too! |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It's a simple matter of restraint. Order a massive thing of pasta and eat off of it for a while. |

I agree as long as a person has the funds and chooses the best nutritional foods possible. For
instance, just because a person eat out all the time doesn't mean that the food is unhealthy. It all
depends on the individuals diet. If everyday the person orders highly unhealthy foods, then most
likely that person if say he or she cooked at home would also prepare similar are the same fatty
foods. It's all about lifestyle. If the person is a vegetarian then most likely their diet may be
less fattening unless they like fried vegetarian foods. Moreover, it is fair to say that yes, home
food has the potential to clear your system and make you feel better both mentally and physically
only if the food is of the highest nutritional value that your body needs. Not all fast food is
unhealthy, therefore, one can not say that a person who eats out all the time will become obese and
have an array of health issues. For it is the lifestyle of the person and food choices that would
determine if that is true or not. I rest my case. |

As long as i have plenty of money.....to buy pizzas, sandwich and burgers, i wont cook... |
| |
|

Everyone is all for cooking. Cooking television shows, cooking books, cooking DVDs, even cooking
computer games. But why do we bother if we don't need to?
Surely, it can be just as healthy to eat out? Surely you can still have smaller portions, or eat
smaller portions even if they serve you large ones. You can still drink water instead of sugary
drinks or alcohol.
If money isn't the problem, why do we need to cook at all? I could happily live off healthy salad
and shish kebab one night and sushi the next night, perhaps get a pizza on the third night as a
treat. The next night, I'll just get sandwiches from the supermarket, the following days I can have
a salad from McDonalds or somewhere like that.
On Saturday, I can go to a bar and get a pasta dish or Sundays it's easier to get a nice Sunday
lunch out. Why we do we need to learn to cook, is it a necessary skill of life, even if we don't
need it?
I can't imagine why I would want to cook if I could always eat sushi. I think I could eat sushi,
maybe five times per week and not really get sick of it because of the range of types of food
available at a Japanese restaurant.
We shouldn't bother with expensive pots and pans, if you want friends round, just get a takeaway.
These days you can get 'proper' food as takeaway and someone will bring it to your home. Why be
made to feel incompetent because you can't boil an egg if you don't need to boil an egg.
To my mind, there is no need to cook at all, we can just eat out and enjoy life and save the pots
and pans money for the fun stuff in life. |
| |
|
| |
|
|
|
 |
|
Because not every one has sufficient funds to be eating at restaurants every night... |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
McDonalds and other fast food places can serve things like over 700 calories. If i was to cook
something i would watch what i am putting in my food. You cannot control what other places put in
your food too you might be allergic to something you ate because u didn't cook it or the person who
cookied it didn't know you were allergic to it. The list goes on and on. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It saves money. And also it might be healthier. |
| |
|
| |
|

|
Eating out or takeaways can be really expenisive |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I think that it is better to be able to cook for yourself, than to get take out every night. And
with todays economy who can really afford to get take out every night anyway. But honestly, i would
rather make a good meal and be satisfied with the end result....i think that that is much more
fullfilling than ordering the best takeout that you can find. But hey to each their own. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Well along with it being so extremely expensive to eat out all the time. It is also not healthy. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I get takeaway's sometimes but not always
i prefer cooked food from home because it's cheaper, it's better quality, and i know what is in it.
People don't cook cause either they don't know how to cook, they're not good at cooking, food
outside taste better, or they just can't be bothered. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Takeway foods are fatty and are bad for your health. It may be convenient but it is expensive and
unhealthy |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
If everyone took that attitude then eventually we'd starve because there would be no food because
resteraunt owners would shut down. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Take-out is expensive! Plus it usually isn't nearly as healthy, especially the cheaper stuff. And
sometimes it's just plain satisfying to know you made something. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
There is nothing wrong with eating out but not every night it costs a lot of money and its bad for
you you might as well have a yummy and healthy home made meal |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Because it costs more, which is no good thing with the inflation we hear about every day. Home-made
food is also healthier and contains mainly fresh ingriedients, instead of bizzare, unhealthy
chemicals. A fast-food takeaway is fine once in a while, but I wouldn't recommend eating three a
day. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Once in a while on a special occasion eating out is nice and if you can afford a nice restaurant
that can make it even more special.
Eating cheap fast food for every day convenience is not good, even the proprietors would go home and
cook surely now?;-)) |

A. To save money b. Its more healthy and anyways when living with my dad i ate takeaways everyday
and if not i would get some home cooked chips and home cooked chicken this was actually good because
I'm a very fussy eater my mum and dad both know that its best to give me the food i want because if
they give me something i don't like i wont eat it ill just stay looking at it till you say go to bed
its getting late . My mum herself cooks home food she cooks things she knows i will like but still
makes sure i have veggies like maybe lettuce in my home cooked burger (which are lovely) and beans
on the side of my chips or tuna and pasta with my chips and burger and my mum does cook other foods
as well i don't think it is right to go fast food everyday because when i started living with my mum
i was sick of it and my mum made me chips and i sad 'awww i wanted to have rice or something' but
obv i still ate it |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
I think take out cost less then grocery's now days, but it is not healthy....and it all tastes about
the same horrible..... |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It's lazy
Maybe you like it better when you make it
It's healthier
You might not know how they make it
lol and if you're rude they will spit in it. |

Fast-food is absolutely disgusting.
Full of processed substitutes for real food.
Bleh.
I would rather eat DIRT for the rest of my life than eat a takeaway three times a day; everyday.
Apart from the fact I would die of obesity, I would feel absolutely awful.
Spots, sweaty, greasy hair and skin... Just... Eugh. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It's cheaper to cook and you would get very obese if you ate-out to much. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
We should cook because it's enjoyable and you can add or take away ingredients you don't like or do
like. And take-out food is unhealthy. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Because the food industry is competitive. That is the reason for loading food full of chemicals and
excess fat and calories just to make it taste better.
I prefer to eat at home when possible. Because some kitchens are not properly cleaned and
sanitized. Because some people don’t wash their hands, food prep and servers included! Because
fecal matter and other materials from being *unclean* can make you sick, the less of it you ingest,
the better. We get a kitchen every time we vacation - just for that reason!
Doesn't mean I don't enjoy others cooking my meals, I WILL eat out, just not every meal, not ever. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Cooking at home is a lot cheaper. Plus you know what is in your food and the quality of your food. |
| |
|

As such there is no hard and fast rule applicable on anyone’s life that he or she will have to
cook. Even in many families where the husband and wife are yet not having an issue and both of them
are working, often it has been seen that they have their food most of the time from outside or get
their food parceled. Thus it is an open choice for anyone that how he or she would like to have
their meals but alongside it is also a matter that not every time it is possible to have the meals
outside as it is not a cost effective solution. Also if we cook at our home we can also make sure of
the fact that whatever we are having is hygienic or not. Thus cooking at home is also a way to have
healthy food. |

I'm fat no take out |
| |
|
| |
|

There are not one but several issues with eating out and take away. Firstly, the issue with fast
food is that it is more expensive then cooking at home. Secondly, fast food and take away is served
in unhealthy proportions. Thirdly, the poor quality of food at fast foods is a major threat to your
health and well being. Fast food is excessively fatty and the ingredients used are not always fresh.
When cooking at home you will carefully follow a plan and time of dinner which would not be possible
when you will be eating out. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
What some people don't realise is that once you've bought the ingredients and got them prepared, to
cook something using fresh is usually quicker than cooking 'processed foods' or going to Mcd to get
some chemically enriched meat by product. It can take 30 mins to cook some mangy looking pizza which
to be frank i wouldn't give to a dog. When you cook fresh you know exactly whats gone into it, how
much salt etc. If you get it all right you cannot beat cooking at home. Things taste so much better
and you feel better for it. |

The occasional take away is alright but they tend to be low in the healthy eating statistics.
They are not only , generally unhealthy but also expensive.
Eating out depends on your budget and where you can afford to eat out. Few people can afford to eat
out often where good, healthy food is served.
Fast food places like Mcdonalds are junk places and to be avoided on a regular basis.
Sushi - well that's healthy but who can afford to eat at sushi bars or restaurants very often.
The skills of food preparation would be lost to us, sitting around the table with family and friends
should be encouraged as it's time to communicate , try doing that with the blaring noise in some
fast-food joints.
No wonder children and young people are lacking cookery skills and risking health problems now and
in the future.
Keep fast food, carry outs and restaurants for occasional meals and enjoy cooking for it's
satisfaction and skill and you might even enjoy it.
If you don't want to cook for friends, suggest everyone makes a dish and brings it round, that works
well. |
| |
|

Well most people can't afford to get takeaway food every night. I suppose that's the main reason for
home cooking. Also a great deal of takeaway food isn't very healthy. Food from Chinese restaurants
or from shops which serve fresh sandwiches may be fine, but fast-food restaurants like McDonald's or
Burger King serve food which may be superficially appetising but which, over the long term, is
probably damaging to health.
I suggest watching the film Super size Me or reading the book Fast Food Nation if you're thinking of
living on Mickey D's products for the rest of your life. |

Spartan76 makes a valid point, and although he is specking of fast food it is wonderful that he took
in the consideration of health being a major part of eating, yet his argument is poorly
debatable.
What Mr. Spartan76 fail to mention is that fast food packs bacteria an chemicals. Which we do not
need!
Eating fruits and vegetables at fast food restaurants are ok but what about all the chemicals they
have to put on those fruits and vegetables to preserve them and to make them clean.
Wouldn't it be just as or even more healthy if you grew your own vegetables at home?
You may have this pleasure of eating out at places such as pizza joints, sandwich joints, or
McDonald's and believe me it's okay to eat out at these places every once and a while, But eating at
fast food restaurants would bring on a new epidemic of Obesity, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and
Heart Disease if you continue to eat fast food day in an day out, each an every day.
The truth is Home food clears your system, makes you feel better both mentally and physically.
Enjoying life is fine but is it worth the risk of fast food.
Home food is healthy, it will make you feel good about yourself, and you'll have much more money to
enjoy something more valuable and meaning in life and so will your children an their children before
them. Be smart! Be a better person, and don't let anyone or anything prove you, Because we all know
there's nothing like a home cooked meal... |
