All of us now have pesticides in our bodies, absorbed from food and from the environment because of
its use on crops and in gardens. This is a bizarre chemical experiment in which we are all human
guinea pigs.
There is no telling what this cocktail of chemicals will do to the human body over the long term.
Some medical conditions have become much more common over the last few decades. It's certainly
possible that this chemical contamination has something to do with it, but, in a world where so many
things are changing, it's hard to isolate cause and effect.
People and organisations should at the very least strive to limit their use of pesticides,
especially when it is for purely cosmetic purposes. I read about some Canadian local governments
making the decision to phase out the use of pesticides on their properties. That is a good thing. |

I agree in concept. HOWEVER, without pesticides and herbicides there will be occasional extreme
fluctuations in the food supply as worms or other critters ruin crops in some years. There could
even be famines. So I'm with you in taking the gamble to cut out these pesticides, for the sake of
environment and our health, BUT we have to accept the trade off to that will be problems in our food
supply. |

I think pesticides should be made safer but we need them to keep the bugs out of our fruits an
veggies. If you don't like to use them that's fine but I'm not gonna be the one that bites into a
bug. |
