Lets make products for American consumers in America. |
| |
| |
| |
That's the problem. Wal-Mart among every other store, should only carry US made items. |
| |
| |
| |
The last lot were a danger to children.
Therefore I agree.:-) ) |
| |
| |
| |
I agree, because it is Human Rights violations. Child labour. |
| |

I think we shouldn't allow ANY store to buy or sell things from China, or at least things that may
be Harmful.
In my opinion we shouldn't buy anything form China or other countries unless it is really needed.
We should be dependent on ourselves. To make things in the USA we will create new jobs and not worry
about poison or lead in things we own or buy. |
| |
| |
| |
My suggestion for a better economy is that we don't buy anything from China at all!!! Let's start
making our own products here in America, wow what a concept! Personally I have tried my best not
to make any purchases lately of products made from China due to the recent hazard. ( I also am
concerned about their view on human rights) It is a very difficult thing to do! But if everyone did
this, the products would not sell, therefore Walmart or any other marketplace would not buy!!!! We
can control this too! Start with yourself and spread the word! |

Walmart Stores Inc. As we all know is an American Public Corporation, is the world’s largest
public corporation which runs a chain of departmental stores. As it is a departmental store thus it
sells everything that is needed for a household. This also includes toys for children and in toy
selling Walmart is considered to be the largest in the United States of America. They hold almost
22% share in the toy market of USA. But recently problems are arising in the toys that are coming
form China as the lead content is too much. Walmart should not encourage selling products like this
as the much high lead content is not good at all. By selling all such toys Walmart will definitely
face depreciation in their market position. Toys from China come with a lead based paint and Walmart
should not sell them. |
| |
| |
| |
Walmart should remove all toys and other products from their shelves if there is even the slightest
suspicion that these items may put the consumer's health at risk. While I would not advocate a
permanent ban on the sale of toys from China, I would certainly suspend the trade of all products
that may contain high levels of lead, until this issue has been resolved by the Chinese
manufacturers.
Toys are actually not the only products from China that have caused people in Europe and North
America much concern. Chinese toothpaste sold in the United States, for example, was recently found
to be contaminated with a poison often used in antifreeze products.
Suspending the sale of products from China, however, may have some negative consequences, including
an increase in consumer prices. Nevertheless, shoppers would simply have to understand that it is
better to pay a little more for a product, but be certain that it is entirely safe and represents no
danger to one's family. |

I don't think we should sell any toys or children's products made in China.
China has a bad human rights record and in some provinces girls are undervalued and often allowed to
die as they are regarded as less value then boys.
I think it's totally hypocritical to allow imports from a country that turns a blind eye to that
sort of treatment of children.
We should be protesting against goods from China, not encouraging them.
Lead in toys is highly dangerous and the standards of safety are low, another indicator of the low
esteem children are held in. Any country which enforces late abortion on women who have more than
one child should be shunned and protests made to their government.
Ban all goods from China and don't allow the exploitation of their children or ours for the sake of
material gains and profit. |
| |
| |
| |
Of course it shouldn't be permitted to sell toys from China if it knows that toys have lead in them.
Even without a government ban, however, I imagine the prospect of being sued would be enough of a
deterrent to Wal-Mart anyway to make it extremely leery of doing the same ever again.
It seems excessive to impose an outright ban on the sale of all toys from China, however, if that's
what you have in mind. China's a big country. Is it 1.5 billion people now? That's a lot of
potential guilt by association if you judge things in such simplistic terms. |
| |
| |
| |
Well, not everything has lead. |
| |
| |
| |
Your so mean, you just don't like Wal-mart. |
| |
| |
| |
Walmart is a business and can do whatever the heck it wants as long as it falls within the confines
of the law...But they would be foolish, and some might argue, immoral to continue to sell products
that they believe to be harmful to children...The Chinese have not figured out how to make or import
lead-free paint yet? ...Wow, someone should give them a call... |
| |
| |
| |
It's not entirely China's fault that there are high lead levels in their products. America has sent
back toys, requesting that they were made cheaper so the average American could afford them. |
| |
| |
| |
Why only pick on Wal*Mart? Does this mean you would by Chinese-made toys from ANOTHER store? |
| |
| |
| |
It isn't just Wal-Mart that sells toys from China, you know. Everyone does. It's China that needs
to do something about the lead problem. |
| |
| |
| |
In a capitalist society, of course they should. They may want to be more careful about what they
sell, but the fact that it was made in China isn't the problem. |
| |
| |
| |
Umm if wal mart didn't seel stuff that wasn't made from china half of wal mart would be gone |
| |
| |
| |
Um, then they would have no toys. |
| |
| |
| |
Well we get most of our stuff from china. Plus just don't buy them!! Plus if they didn't, they
wouldn't have many toys. |
| |
| |
| |
DON'T BUY THEM AND THEY WILL NOT CARRY THEM, it is simple economics, there is a market for cheap
toys (demand) and American wages do not allow for toys (supply) to made as cheaply as they can be in
a country like China.
Who would require walmart to stop selling chinese made toys?
This can only be accomplished through government control over private business, and government
control of industry does not have a very good track record, at least not in the US |
| |
| |
| |
I think they should only be able o sell toys that are not made from people who are getting paid
minimum wage. |
| |
| |
| |
This is all true but i think its okay it they have separate isles marked MADE IN CHINA. As long as
parents know what their buying their child and where it came from, i don't see a problem. |
| |
| |
| |
We get cool stuff from china their technology but mostly their led diseases or their nuclear weapons |
| |
