Walmart drives out small businesses and makes them unable to opperate. It doesn't give back to the
community in any way shape or form. It pays its workers minimum wage and gives them minimal
benefits. |

Large multi-national chain stores such as Walmart seem to be a great convenience for everyone, but,
behind the scenes the story is quite different. It is very pleasant for the consumers to shop at
such places, with huge, bright interiors, special offers galore, and the convenience of being able
to get everything under one roof. By competition is meant the existing small stores that are already
in business. As soon as a company like Walmart starts up in a city, or a locality, it starts a price
war which their competitors, being smaller in scale, are unable to survive. One by one they are
forced out of business. Thus we often find local people who are out of jobs. With the eventual
destruction of all competition, this company establishes a monopoly, which, as we all know is not a
good thing at all. Competition is healthy for business. |

You poorly worded this debate. If you don't like Walmart don't shop there. That's what I'd do if I
were you. I'm all for Walmart. |

First of all bad on the environment?if your talking about plants they sell them there and its not
their fault that the small shop doesn't have as much variety |

Walmart does nothing of the sort. It is a business that opens it's doors and people CHOOSE to shop
there. If people didn't like what Walmart was doing, then they wouldn't shop there, it isn't like
Walmart employees are out rounding up people at gunpoint. They have a successful business model and
people respond to it.
Walmart isn't bad for small business, small businesses cannot compete and that's how the free
enterprise system works. |
