Violent Video Games Are A Bad Influence On Children
Some people say that violent video games are bad influences on children. Those people say that their children would play a violent video game and imitate everything they saw. If that is so, why do parents willingly buy their children violent video games when there is a clear rating for the game on the bottom of the box with a list of reasons why it is given the rating it is?

I have to say that it is, and kids shouldn't be playing violent video games until they could handle it. Geez, I met too many kids who get high off video games and candies.

Yes, violent games are a bad influence on young children who are still very impressionable. Often enough parents are not to blame for their child being exposed to these games. And other times parents feel that these games aren't a bad influence so they will purchase the game(s) for their children. Also, videogames are not the only source of violence that kids see nowadays. There is increasing violence being shown in movies and children's T.V shows.

They are a bad influence on many of the people who play them, yes.

But i would like to clarify that i still don't think they should be banned or regulated on account of this. People have a right to expose themselves to bad influences.

Most of the time it is, but some children have the ability to know the difference between violence in video games and violence in real life.

Some parents really don't give a c r a p and many times are simply clueless about the violence level of many video games. They see the label; however, they seem to think 'how bad can it be? It is just a video game'.

I do think though that certain children have violent tendencies and are more attracted to violent games.
Violent video games do have an age rating on them because younger children cannot separate reality from fantasy. That is why they are encouraged to play games that are more age appropriate.

All though i am completely on ur side Axem, there is a little and i do mean little bit of influence on people. A little kid will still imitate anything, but again, the parents should prevent them from playing the game, so... Yeah

I don't think that violence in video games influences kids at all. When I was growing up, and still am, really, I didn't let playing as James Bond shooting people influence me to do anything stupid. Or shooting Middle Eastern people in Call of Duty 4 doesn't make me hate Arabs. I have plenty reason to, but none of my reasoning involves video games at all.
