LOL, sounds like someone is making up some statistics to suit their intention. As the famous quote
goes 'Oh anyone can use statistics to prove anything. 65% of people know that.' Anyway, I don't
believe the media when they say games have a negtive effect on kids. The majority can quite happily
play a game and leave their anger and aggression there. The occassional child goes balisitic with a
gun because he fails to spot differences between reailty and fantasy and its this that the media
picks up on. Once again the majority are being disadvataged to suit the minority. |

According to my experience and also according to the survey it has been proved that video games are
right for kids as video are not only mere source of entertainment but a child can learn many
important things about life and the strategies to be adopted to face the hurdles in life and
overcome them with grit and determination. These games also develop the explicit qualities like
concentration and patience which is found lacking in today’s kids. These qualities help him in his
academic career. It has been found through various surveys that a child who plays video games score
high grades. This is possible because his level of concentration has increased which helps him to
absorb the information and then patiently apply it during his examination and score high grades. It
also teaches him compatibility as he plays with other opponents and also develops sportsmanship
spirit. |

I agree. Video games are fun and a great way to relax. They are extremely enjoyable for kids and
adults alike, but they should be played in moderation. It isn't healthy to spend hours playing them,
but that doesn't make them bad for kids like some people think.
People think that video games promote violence. True, there are games out there that contain
violence and bad language, but these games are given a rating which clearly states that they are
only suitable for adults. There are plenty of games which are fun and educational. Some games
contain lots of problem solving, which keeps the brain active.
As long as kids avoid playing games for hours on end, then I see no problem with them playing them. |

As long it is not abused, they are OK. Children still need to go out and experience the real world.
However when used in small doses there is nothing wrong with them. |

It depends on whether they know how to control their urge to play these games and not affect their
school work. |

Playing video games all the time may help you with hand eye coordination, but it sometimes makes you
want to play it all the time. That makes this person stay inside, to play the mindless video game,
and they lose social skills. |

If you play video games you don't do better in school as a result. It's just a coincidence. Also
that statistic is entirely made up. |

OK well i admit some video games are good for kids but most are not because although 75% of people
that play video games are smarter but i bet 75% are also more lazy |

Ok, first of all, as teen, I will point out nonhypocritically that using the word "chillax" to make
an argument is never the best way to prove to the adult community that video games are improving the
intelligence of today's youth. The statistic that you have shown beneath your heading was most
likely referring to educational videogames, and I can't say that all or even most games are
educational. So I must say that the endless playing of video games or even using video games to
supplement outdoor play is something worth defending. I will however say that for emotional needs,
like eliminating anger, distraction, or short-term relaxation it occasionally gets the job done. I
feel that your statistics need to be more closely evaluated in order to base an argument around it.
And I will say that videogames for kids aren't the best choice for kids. There are many better
choices to achieve developmental milemarkers. I say that if video game playing is BALANCED with
other things like maybe music or art or outdoor play, then absolutely, count me in for the pro side.
But, because often it is not, I will have to say that it it not a good thing. I mean I recall being
10 and going over to my friends house and playing video games but we would also go outside . |

They turn your brain to mush and they are violent. Some kids are so stupid they think they can do a
flip on the cement to and... Boom! Kids should have better things to do. |
