If you look at vegetarians because some of my friends are they are skinny and the ones that i know
aren't athletic in any way. I think it's kinda bad you need meat to have proteins and get stronger. |

Vegetarians need to get over the fact that we NEED meat.. They can not eat it if they like but that
just shows that they are afraid to face the fact that yes, we kill to eat. And they think that"the
poor little animals don't deserve to die to be food" but heellooooo those "cute little animals"
might have killed other little animals for food... So if you think its wrong then that makes them
wrong and if you keep thinking about it it kinda goes in a big circle... And i don't wanna type all
that... But really we need to eat... If we don't eat meat we'll be skinny little hobos...so i think
you vegetarians should really think about it and realize that its just a part of life... |

You need to have meat for protein, rice for nutrients and much more.
Yes i yes vegetables are good for you, but you need more meat and grains and stuff like that. |

I am not convinced it is good for health especially for males. |

First, we should be vegetarians because it prevents health problems. However, local people are meat
does not have anything bad in the substance. Scientists are now finding that red meat higher the
chances of getting cancer and mutating the DNA. Vegetarians have other advantages. They are less
likely to be obese, have high blood pressure, diabetes, colon cancer, and heart disease. One study
shows that blood pressure lowered 14% when a person turned vegetarian. Julie Howden, a nutritionist
and executive director of Singapore-based Asian Foods Information Centre, says that people can still
be vegetarians and get all the proteins and minerals needed. Thus, we should be vegetarians because
it prevents health problems.
Next, we should be vegetarians because we should show some humaneness to the animals. Some local
people say that if we do not kill the animals they will over populate. Animals are being tortured in
slaughterhouses. Westland/Hallmark Meat Co., the slaughterhouse that provided meat for USDA, has
been closed down due their crucial way of slaughtering animals. By dragging the animals over, they
kill even the sick ones that cannot even stand on its feet. This was proved when a video was taken
of what happened inside at the slaughterhouse. Even Leonardo Da Vinci bought chickens in cages just
to set them free. However, nature has a perfect balance for population. Dogs are a man’s best
friend, but we do not kill them. Dogs are not over powering the Earth. Therefore, I believe that we
should show humaneness to animals.
Lastly, I believe that we should be a vegetarian because our physiological design. Although, some
people think that we have adapted to eat meat. However, our dental structures clearly show that our
teeth were made for biting and chewing grains and vegetables. The enzyme alpha-amylase, a starch in
our saliva, contains the sole purpose to digest the complex carbohydrates in plant foods. Carnivores
do not have the enzyme alpha amylase. Standard western nutritional dogma "classifies" human beings
as omnivores. However, after thorough research, humans were classified of being herbivores. We also
require special tools to break down our food, since we do not have claws. Therefore, we have the
physiological design to eat vegetarian products, and none of the right apparatus to eat flesh foods. |

You need protein and other nutrient but you can get protein from other things like peanut butter. |

Nowadays it is becoming a trend that people are becoming vegetarians and at times many reports are
also coming out in the newspapers which illustrate the usefulness of vegetarianism. But this does
nowhere mean that food items which fall under the non-vegetarian category are not needed. In fact it
is rather more advisable to have a balanced diet with proper inclusion of meat and other
non-vegetarian items. Non-vegetarian food items are also having certain nutrient value and they are
also highly required for our health. Thus having a diet which fully avoids non-vegetarian items can
never be a complete diet for any human being. One should always know the difference between a
vegetarian diet and a non-vegetarian diet. A balanced diet should always have a proper combination
of both of these. Thus being vegetarian is not so good for health. |

This kind of debate requires a thorough knowledge of the human body to make a truly insightful
contribution. Although if I had to choose I would heir on this side. |

Absolutely agree! I am all against killing animals, but their going to be killed whether your
personally vegetarian or not! It's a vital part of your diet, containing proteins! |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
You really cannot just be a vegetarian, it is impossible to have a purely vegetarian diet, you have
to supplement your diet with proteins, etc or you will become ill. The human body isn't set up to
survive off of a non-meat diet, it's unnatural to try and frankly a little silly to boot. |

Yes, I think so. By nature uman is not herbivore nor carnivore, but carnivore. Therefore, to be
health we definitely need a diet which is balanced between meat and vegetable. |

There are plenty of healthy people who are vegetarians. HOWEVER, our species genuinely is
omnivorous and I believe it's easier to get all our nutrition be eating a wide range of foods which
would also include meat. So although vegetarians can be healthy I actually do NOT think it is at
the top of the healthy diets. In fact if they're not careful they can become seriously deficient in
certain nutrients. |

No. It is not.
I am a vegetarian and i am perfectly healthy.
And happy. |

Being a vegetarian isn't bad for your health. There are a lot of meals one could make that would
include all the vitamins and minerals needed to be healthy. At least vegetarians still eat fish,
eggs and milk products. Vegans on the other hand have a lot more trouble health-wise as they have
fewer choices for protein, iron and calcium. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
While the choice remove meat and other animal products from one's diet can be unhealthy, it is not
the case for many people. If one replaces meat with another form of protein and eats an otherwise
balanced and healthy diet....maybe, also a vitamin/mineral supplement also, that is a healthy life
style. However, if someone replaces their meat with Twinkies, the result in their health is likely
to be adverse. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
It can definitely be unhealthy, but it can also be healthy. Same with people that eat meat. |
| |
|
| |
|

You can be perfectly healthy and be a vegetarian, just as you can be if you eat meat. There are far
more relevant factors to peoples poor or good health |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
A vegetarian diet should be carefully managed to ensure the right balance of nutrients just like any
other diet that restricts certain types of foods. It is not healthier or unhealthier in and of it's
own. It depends much more on the needs of the person consuming the foods. |

Many vegetarians eat fish in there diet ans stay healthy.
I have been a vegetarian once in i did pass out once or twice because i was low on protein but you
can also you can get meals that are for vegetarians that keeps them healthy. |

We've already had this debate on here before, but I'm going to reply again anyway.
Meat gives you proteins, but it is not the only source. My friend is a vegetarian and he is pretty
healthy. A vegan, on the other hand, is a different story. |

|

You should read about people like Arnold Ehret or Kellog (past) or Gary Null or Dr.Macdougal
(present) who heal people of their illnesses through vegetarianism. You'll find it enlightening. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Absolutely not. If you're careful about what you eat then there is no reason why being vegetarian
cannot be as healthy as being a meat eater. It may even be a healthier diet altogether. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
No, Actually it can be HEALTHIER! I'm a vegetarian and I get enough protein and other elements for a
balanced diet. It is fun, It's be proven for many years, Vegetarian is not a new things, some
Religion and Cultures believe in it, It is safe and healthy if done the right way. |
| |
|

No, some vegetarians are vegetarians for religious reasons. Forcing people to eat meat is immoral,
and disgusting. Vegetarians don't try to force you to eat like them, so don't try to make
vegetarians eat like you. There is nothing unhealthy about the vegetarian diet, as long as it's a
"healthy" based diet, like not all fast food, or candy. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Vegetarians are healthy, there are supplements available, as well as many tasty alternatives.
Vegetarians are very healthy, there is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. It depends on what you
eat regardless. Both diets can be unhealthy, but if you eat right both can be healthy. Vegetarians
are not unhealthy. |
