Van Morrison ''Brown Eyed Girl,'' Got To Be One Of The Greatest Tracks Ever!...
There's something very very special about this track,Shall, la la la la la la la tea DA! Reminds me of ''Tea and Crumpets!''

It’s a lovely song. Whenever I hear it then I have to listen to the Pogues, A Pair of Brown Eyes.
It came on the box at my watering hole the other day, and this genius sitting next to me starting going on about how Morrison was from Australia. He was quite adamant about it. I mentioned that I was pretty sure he was Irish and was told in no uncertain terms that not only did I not know what I was talking about but that I should shut my gob. He got very offended when my wife and I burst out laughing.

It's surprisingly simple in both melody and verse yet still a solid song. And Fun. And Unique. Almost everyone remembers the music and/or some of the words. Yes, it's a great song.

Whether "one of the greatest tracks ever" is still debatable because there are so many other songs but you chose a good contender.

I agree 100%. I've always loved that song. For a long time, I loved it because I have brown eyes. Recently, it has an become an even more precious song to me because it makes me think of someone very dear to me and who is close to my heart. Van Morrison music is great "mood" music. You must be a romantic guy. I'm not sure what K9 is going on about, but I think his taste in music is lacking a bit. Of course, what sounds good to one, does not sound good to all. One would think that most people would like a classic such as "Brown Eyed Girl" though.

''Brown Eyed Girl'' is definitely tops for me, it's a stage further than Keep's ''Bright Side Of The Road:''
Little darling ''COME,'' with me,
Won't you help me share my load,
From the ''Dark Side,'' of the Street,
To the ''Bright Side'' of the ROAD!
If you get mi drift.....;-)

Joshua, you have wonderful taste in music. I love "True Colors" as well. Did you know that The Hooters did a version of that song? If memory serves, they helped give Cyndi Lauper her start. It has been a while, but I believe that is what I heard.

Van morrison sounds like an old utility vehicle. I was never a fan. Here is a cover of Bright Side of the Road I think this is a better song.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP8sxcvvwqI

No. It sounds more dated than 1980s synthpop.

If you want a folkie from the British Isles who actually has talent, try listening to Richard Thompson. Or more recently, The Silencers.

Sounds like you got about as much x talent factor as that Simon Cowflop...;-) Silencers, ''Wild Mountain Thyme,'' now they are a nice quiet band.
