True enough especially in the last ten years. But we've got you completely beat in the 1 hour drama
department. Cop shows, murder mysteries, things like Dexter, which may be the best show on
television right now, House, Sopranoes, Big Love, The Closer, Monk, Psych, the Sci-Fi shows. I could
go on and on but I have to go to work. |

Definitely right about that, although I'll grudgingly allow 'em Married with Children too. |

I've never seen a UK sitcom before. But I hate almost all the sitcoms I've ever seen though. |

Friends, Dharma & Greg, Everyone Loves Raymond, Home Improvements, Will & Grace, The Cosby Show etc
etc etc. There are hundreds of them and they are all the same, man do they suck. There are
exceptions but they are few and far between; The Honeymooners, Bilko, Cheers, Taxi, Scrubs.
Compare that to British sitcoms; Fools & Horses, Porridge, Alan Partridge, Pheonix Nights, Steptoe
and Son, Fawltey Towers, The Peep SHow, Father Ted (Irish but made by channel 4) Blackadder, Gavin &
Stacey and many more. I could say the same about the sketch show format.
Why are Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, and South Park so brilliant yet the Yanks can't make
funny Tv comedy shows. |
