Trick-or-Treating Is Nothing More Than A Glorified Form Of Panhandling For Children.
It promotes the liberal mentality that people shouldn't work for what they want but rather go door to door and expect that people, even complete strangers, give them what they want without having to do a crying thing to work for it.
I'm sure you think a lot of things; I couldn't care less. You are just proving what an arrogant moron you are with your post. You got the "screw Hizashi" part right though; you area sorhtless scumbag with a god complex and I have little tolerance for you. I don't mind when peolpe disagee with me as long as they know what the hell they're talking about. More often than not you don't; you just can't comprehend the concept of you being wrong about anything. The bottom line is that you are a worthless , sanctimonious litle pile of manure, and lkewise you have no place criticizing me or anyone else .
That is not the issue. The issue is how self righteous Christians would adopt a day that celebrates
all the evils of the world in a glorified or festive fashion. And the defense of it is, "its for
the kids". That is always the defense for things that should counter their belief system or allows
for indulgence.
Its funny though how I listen to Christians here in America bash Caribbean and Brazilian festivities
such as the annual Carnivals where they dress in mask of horrible looking things such as demons and
people here call them devil worshipers or celebrating evil holidays yet they can justify Halloween.
Same exact behavior. Oh, but its for the kids.
Why does this need to be about Christianity? The precedent for Halloween precedes Christianity. Few people who celebrate it now would consider it a religious holiday at all. I'm not saying you don't have a point I just don't think it applies to this debate.
Humbug. It is an excuse to get dressed up and visit people in your neighbourhood. Above all else
it is for children to have a bit of fun in an otherwise rather gloomy part of the year. Besides
there are a lot of people who really enjoy children coming to their door and bringing a little
sunshine into their lives. Providing the parents supervise them there is no harm whatsoever.
Why is panhandling a necessary element? Why not just take your children to visit with neighbors without teaching children that they're entitledto candy just for demanding it? I guess I'm the only one around here with a shred of moral fiber; oh well.
You forget they do work for it. They have to think of, create, and execute a plan for a costume. It
is an introduction for children into the neighborhood. It helps them bond with the members of the
neighborhood. It shows children that their is reward to braving their fears. And finally it allows
children to recognize and target antisocial trolls who won't participate and exact revenge for all
society.
Fears? Of what, going without handouts from strangers that they think they deserve because of their entitlement complexes? How is demanding candy from people they don't even know and egging the houses of people that they can't extort candy from helpful for their social skills?
Halloween, for me as a kid, was a day where I could dress up as one of my favorite characters and
get lots of candy. What did that teach me? That Halloween was an awesome day. There was no mentality
of wanting to go door-to-door on a daily basis to ask for handouts because people would give me what
I want. I think Halloween is just a holiday; nothing more.
