I agree despite not having to pay. I'm a student and have a pass but I have a sister who is charged
nearly 2 quid to go five miles down the road. In the past when I've had to pay, I've walked. It is
better for you, you save money and you get used to the distance eventually. A 5 mile walk now only
takes me 45 minutes. |

There are so many people who ride bus and other public transportation. |

Government says to helping prevent climate change, but what they should in reality is to low the
price of public transportation, so less people driving cars! |

I also think people should get frequent rider miles on some special cards, then make it so that some
of the points on those cards are redeemable at the gas
stations. This would force gas prices
down and help the enviorment a little. |

Trains and buses are expensive, but think of the gas money you are saving for a vehicle. It costs
over $100/mo just for a little Cavalier, let alone SUV's. So, if you think those are expensive,
invest in a car and than we can talk. |

Yes, buses and trains are expensive. In order to get to work, people have to spend a large portion
of their wages, which is ridiculous. |

All travel is expensive today.
Even horse + buggy. |

Totally agreed. I spend so much of my money on buses. It is ridiculous. |

For decades the oil and car industry has fueled the economy of the world. It is no good trying to
close the door once the horse has already bolted.
With all the investment in roads and infrastructure there is just no way of going back.
The car and the need for it, let alone the love affair with it means it is hear to stay for a very
long time. |

No because that money that you pay goes towards the gas and everything the train and bus needs for
say repairs and other things. |

Compared to cars, public transportation is cheap. I mean : Buses and railroad, not planes. Taxicabs
are also cheap for occasional rides, compared to the cost of owning or leasing a car.
Monthly passes are much cheaper than per-ride fares, though... |
