Most of the people on the green side are oppressors of "animal-lovers" because they oppose the very
idea of giving them equal rights to marriage that they campaign for homosexual people to have. So,
yes, they are intolerant. And their every reason to give to the one and deny the other is ARBITRARY,
the mark of injustice. |

Well we all have our pet peeves. You're definitely correct. There is no way someone can be so
flawless in that aspect, no matter how hard they try, they'd lack human quality |

Intolerance is not always a bad thing, depending on where you intolerance lies. |

I agree with that. I have always been the same way, But I cannot be tolerant with people who are
racist, homophobic, pedophiles, abusers, litterers... So therefore, I agree that we are all
intolerant in some way. |

Actually, it seems all the comments thus far are describing the true meaning of tolerance. To
tolerate someone means to disagree with them about something that is very important. In other
words, you think they are wrong in their thinking or behaving and it really matters, but you
"tolerate" them not because there is anything you agree with them about, but you tolerate them
simply because of the respect and dignity that another human being deserves. An example, of no
tolerance would be a murder/rapist where there would be no tolerance. An example of tolerance for
me, would be to tolerate an abortionist. I think what he or she is doing is dead wrong, but I
tolerate it. |

Have to agree to an extent.
Grenache is right that it would be more a sliding scale.
Some examples from me personally, just for the sake of examination:
The issue of homosexuality...I understand why some are intolerant but in a secular sense I don't see
how people can't be allowed to be who they are. In the religious sense based on the Bible I don't
see how people can be intolerant...I understand how they can be taught in error...but not how they
can miss the entire point of the Bible.
Racism: Racism is so stupid I am intolerant of racism which I have to admit causes me to be
intolerant of racial.
I am intolerant of people accusing women and doctors of killing "babies and children" regarding the
abortion issue.
I am intolerant of people insisting there is no God because it is a stupid thing to do.
I am intolerant of people who claim Christianity and waltz around insinuating that Jesus only
forgives those who do something to earn the forgiveness, seeing how that is insane.
In short, I think I am intolerant of stupidity when it is being portrayed as the way to be.
But I suppose we all feel this way about our intolerances. |

I CAN'T STAND when someone points that out!!!
(OK, just being ironic).
Yes. We're all human, we all have something or someone that bothers us, and maybe not even
consciously. Intolerance may be more of a sliding scale than a yes you have it or no you don't. An
overtly intollerant person may score a big 90 out of 100 on a scale, probably most of us who think
we are not intolerant are doing pretty good if we're down around 10 out of 100. I doubt anyone
truly scores 0 or 1, or even at the other extreme of 99 or 100. |
