Well there's only one way to settle this -- an arm wrestling match. Step right up. But hmm, which
side am I representing? |

Sure, I do agree that those who rely on God is weak. But they gave everything to him, and humbled
themselves in front of God. God said that whoever humbles himself will be exalted, and whoever
exalts himself will be humbled. I feel stronger with God, though others may perceieve me as being
weak and foolish. That's fine. I'll chase God's wisdom since it's the truth, and wonderful. I never
felt so much happier in my life now. I was always unhappy before. |

Any way to relieve stress makes one stronger no matter how it's gotten.
One of AA's 12-steps is "a Higher Power".
If it helps alkies it could help anyone. |

I judge a mans strengths and weaknesses on what he has been through. Ive seen a few strong men
because of their religious beliefs, and what would be considered weak ones, because of their lack of
religious beliefs. It may be a crutch to some, but if strength is the ability and the drive to keep
on keepin on?
Hey, if it gets you through the day... |

Atheists fill the void with other things in order to make themselves feel stronger. Often times it
is with some leap of faith in science and progress. All of the greatest struggles against injustice
in the West have ben backed by Christians, I would tend to think that is because of strength. The
fights against the slave trade in Britain and the Civil Rights Movement in America provide two great
examples demonstrating not just strength, but incredible power in fighting a system of corruption
and injustice which had previously seemed unstoppable. |

There is no way to compare how a person would live if they had taken a certain avenue.
End of discussion.
Literally...such discussion is idiotic. |

I personaly dont believe that people that rely on gods strength and love are weak even though I am
not really big on religion ( I have my reasons). If they needed it I am fine with that. But people
that use God to justify there wrong doings and BS are the ones that are the problem. |

Yeah, I hear this all the time. First, one could call you weak for having to need "hope and
purpose," yourself. What's the difference between what you have hope in and what you have purpose
for, than what a believer depends upon? Second, I actually agree with you that we all must have
hope and purpose, because to function properly we all "need" these things and, we therefore, are
designed to need these things. Third, If we are designed to need hope and purpose, why is God a
"weaker" provider of hope and purpose? Perhaps, we are designed to rely on Him and it is weaker to
have to rely on false substitutes. |
