I've had about a dozen posts and topics removed. |

It is just hypocritical political correctness. There are some things you can say and some things you
can never mention or even talk about, because it is taboo or politically incorrect...even if it is
true or factually correct. What is abusive is a matter of interpretation, therefore there is no
consistency by the moderators at all. For example, there was a debate about the virgin mary as a
rape victim, there is a lot of academic text on the subject, yet because it is a taboo subject, it
is not allowed to be discussed. |

If someone's debate was removed, your response would be removed automatically by the system with the
reason" debate removed". Maybe there's nothing wrong with your posts, yet the debate was not
suitable for the site. You know, if the debates or responses are offensive, it will hurt other
users' feeling as well. So it's better for the site to have moderation system. |

I think it is good that there are rules to follow when using a site like this. I must admit i've
seen a few debates which I think are a little pointless. Some debates that I see are fun, but others
can be offensive.
Like you said, it is understandable if the moderaters remove a response or debate because it does
not contain enough detail.
One of my responses was removed because the debate that I responded too was removed. I assumed this
was not my fault, but rather the fault of the person who created the debate, as there was obviously
something about it that was inappropriate.
I can see why users would be frustrated if their comments were removed, but I think it's good that
the site is moderated and kept clean of any ridiculous debates and short comments. Some people have
responded to debates without backing up their statements and I think that since it's a debate site,
the moderators like to see lengthy contributions. |

This site is perfect the way it is, besides the fact that some people are confused on which side to
put their response on. |

We've seen what happens when there is no moderation. The site is filled with ludicrous,
insubstantial and often offensive debate topics. So moderation is needed. I agree, however, that the
moderation must be fair and reasonable. Ineffective moderation which involves casually snuffing out
unobjectionable contributions which someone took time and effort over is deeply alienating to users
and will drive them away from the site. I myself have experienced this and it angered me greatly. |

I agree completely with Cephus; statements must be backed up. In fact, I think the website should be
harsher; for example this very debate should be disallowed for its ludicrousy and idioticy. |

Actually, it should have more moderation to stop people from posting idiotic debates for the sole
purpose of upping their post count. The only things I've seen removed around here have been either
abusive or moronic. |
