I think it's certainly a lot duller than it was. Back when I first started, I was hooked, it was
addictive. And I'm pretty sure my Spanish exam suffered tremendously because of this site. There are
no worthwhile debates, and if there are they've just been recycled. I miss the good old days. I
think it started to decline when Mark left. |

Well as brilliant as I am and you are fortunate to have me, I know I'm being modest, please hold the
applause. But I agree. Too many kids posting ridiculous debates, too many of one person posting
under different personas, that sort of thing. It does get a bit annoying sometimes. |

Yeah I remember the busy days. Now you're lucky to get 5 different avatars making comments on a
topic.
I'm not sure why. Maybe they get their fill and move on, or get fed up with egos and games, or
start to see the same topics repeating and feel they've already said their bit. I don't know. |

I think the site is fine, its just because some people lkike debating on the less serious debates
about food etc. I think the fun ones are better, the ones about politics confuse me and the ones
about religion i dont like either.
So the fun debates are better, so post some Lord Daniel lol |

There are still many debaters on here who are intellingent and who put much thought into their
responses to the debates that they choose to participate in. I can think of 15 (give or take)
individuals who fit the description. I know that several users have left who I respected and who I
miss. I hope that, after some time away, they make it back here more regularly. I believe that
most of the people who have left became weary of joe9 and his multiple avatars. I'm sorry, don't
mean to upset you Lordie Danny....(that one was for Finsch who uses the username FINSCH....not
Finschie. Got it?) I am tired of you playing silly games with people on this site. I do not give
a rat's @ss what you say to me, but I think there are some very nice people on here who might not
know what they are getting into when they begin to debate with you (obviously, I am referring to new
users). I find it to be rude that you mock debaters on here. I personally take offense when
someone messes with people who I like and feel are deserving of not only my support, but of others'
respect as well.
I want to clarify that I am not writing this to slam you. I have no interest in maintaining grudges
or holding onto anger caused by other people's behavior. I like to let things in the past and keep
them there. I am answering this honestly because I am not happy when I see mind games going on. I
think that as a grown man, you should have reached a level of maturity that should cause you to be
above such childish behavior. If you want more people to debate, I totally agree with Genkaku.
Give them topics that are fresh, interesting and allow for one to use their mind and think outside
of the box and you can become instrumental in allowing the debating skills that are here on FAA.
I also believe that Finsch has a good point. It is summer and kids are home from school.....meaning
parents might be a bit busier than usual and there are more family activities in the summer. People
are busy at times. That does not indicate a total loss of interest in this site. It is evidence
that a great number of people like to spend some time outside in the summer months and like to have
family time when there are more activities that lend themselves to family time.
Do try to be more open, honest and straight forward. I think that you might just see that people
happen to react better to that kind of behavior and to the consideration of being treated like
equals. |
