Most of the democrats in America are totally uneducated as to what a politician has done in office,
I'm an independent and this is a observation from talking to lots of people. Bush may be the most
hated president (I don't care much for him either) but the Clintons were the most corrupt
presidential family in the white house ever. Having illegal FBI
files Selling off cemetery plots in Arlington to non military
people (a cemetery for war heroes) Get out of jail free cards ( for $100,000) Renting the
Lincoln bedroom to line their pockets
Stealing Paintings and statues from the white house when they moved out
Giving away super computers to our enemy so they can target us with missles now Giving control
of our american rivers to the Un with out even asking the American people ( the American Rivers Act)

You make a good point, although the debate topic needs to be rephrased so it's something people can
either agree or disagree with. Talent of the very highest order - true genius, in fact - never runs
in families. How many great geniuses were there whose children were also great geniuses? None.
Shakespeare didn't beget mini-Shakespeares and Mozart didn't beget mini-Mozarts. Above-average
distinction can run within the families but not the highest levels of genius. For example, Bach's
descendants were talented musicians and composers too but were not on his level.
When you see members of the same family popping up again and again within some field of activity,
therefore, you know that there's something wrong with it. There's some kind of restricted entry
system in operation. Take Formula One, for example. You often see the same family names cropping up
there. The conclusion I draw from it is that these drivers are not the best drivers on the planet.
There are probably loads of better drivers out there who never race professionally. Or if they try
and break into the professional game there are barriers to entry that hold them back and prevent
them reaching the highest levels.
It's the same with politics. There is no way that the Bushes and the Clintons (with the possible
exception of Bill Clinton) represent some genius-level talent. If they rise to the top for some
reason, there is clearly something other than an impartial talent selection going on. |
