I agree with Cephus, people will just start debates to gain points, and frankly, those of us who
work hard to get our points are left in the dust. To all of you who make stupid debates, please
stop! |

I am beginning to get disgusted at the sheer volume of absolutely stupid topics. Things that aren't
debatable, are completely irrelevant, make no sense aren't worded properly...It just overshadows all
the brilliant debate topics because the sad fact is idiots outnumber rational thinkers. I really
hope the site administrators do something about it.
Like "kids should be allowed to use "mary jane" (14-18) under parental supervision". What on Earth
would possess anyone to debate that? I think the site would work so much better, and actually serve
it's purpose if we eliminated these inane topics... |

Hi this is Socrates. It would be a very sensible idea to have Moderators. For many years i have
been involved with Debating Societies. Even when debates took place in person with all debaters
present. I was the equivalent of a Moderator today. It certainly made for a better running of the
Society. Sorting the chaff from the wheat. |

Exactly and to make sure they are at least debatable by something other than raw opinion "spiderman
is better than superman" come on now? |

Not just silly topics but just random thoughts thrown together in a few seconds specifically to get
one's post count up. We could name a couple of extreme offenders on this, the ones who post 10-20
debates in a row but never bother to answer their own arguments. |

No way. You can report abuse, and someone suggested a way to ignore specific users/debates. I don't
want someone deleting my posts just because they don't agree with me. |

NO! Less moderation! Less government! Didn't anyone ever tell you that power corrupts? Who will
decide what is relevant? A socialist? A fascist? Maybe a normal person but will everyone agree
with everything he says? NO! Let people decide for themselves what is relevant by skipping the
dumb debates and only participating in the good ones. |
