There Should Be One Language For The Whole World And It Should Be English Due To The Fact That More People In The World Already Speak It As A Second Language. Also We Could Change The Name To Earth Language.
We're get closer to meeting Aliens I think it would help the planets communication with these Aliens that we are so close to meeting. Also it will help in the fact that we won't need to learn other languages and could focus more on other subjects such as Earth language, Maths & Science. Also give people more time. If we don't have it as everyone's first language then we should make it everyone's second language at least as this will still help. Also people who didn't get an education will still be able to communicate with others.

English is already the language of business, science, and diplomacy. It just needs more exceptions cut out of it. We have been working on that, with words such as "sneaked" replacing "snuck".

Why? Because the cuss-words in German sound way cooler ;-)

They have a harsh sound to them, guttural :

What kind of an idea is that? It is completely unfair on other countries and likely to mess up their cultures! Anyway, how do you plan on enforcing it?

People wouldn't cooperate. You cant force someone to learn something as complex as a language.

Ridiculous. 1) English is a composite of several major preceding languages due to invaders of England and thus has more complicated grammatical rules than most other Romance origin languages, like Spanish for example. 2) Spanish is a better choice because it encompasses everything South of the US and now a big chunk of the US too, and it has simpler grammar rules. 3) Asian populations, and the rise of China, make an excellent point that the winner wouldn't be a Western European language at all. 4) Subdialects are constantly developing so even if you snapped a magic wand and made us all speak English today just a generation or two from now you'd see marked divergences in terminology and speaking styles in further stretches of the world. 5) Half the world is "3rd World" and has limited education as it is, how in the world are you going to get tribes in Africa or the Amazon or remote Pacifican islands to all learn English? 6) This is the age of computers, if we ever come up with one language I'd bet it to be something new generated from the digital computer age - probably utterly different from all these archaic spoken languages.

You speak like an uneducated and ignorant chauvinist.

English is a wretched language with inconsistent, contradictory, and has a horrible mishmash of grammar and vocabulary. Its only strength is that more can be said in English than any other language, but that could be true of any language were another to be more dominant.

The only reasons English is so widespread are the imperialism of the UK and the US, and the happenstance of where many scientific advancements and inventions occurred. It is a matter of luck and situation, not superiority.

It's a stupid idea because people will find it hard to learn like I find other languages to learn like french and Russian. It's like saying people who have french or whatever as a main language should make that worldwide. Different people find different languages easy or hard.
