Ban the demon drink, it is causing world wide deprivation. |
| |
| |
No. Remember the prohibition? It would be a total disaster. |
| |
| |

Even if it were, people would definitely not cease to drink, like drug intake. Best thing to do, if
you want people to stop drinking, is to increase tax on it to the point where barely anyone can
afford it. The higher the volume, the higher the tax.
And not everyone who drinks turn out bad or unruly. I know many people who, even after binge
drinking, don't result in fighting each other, but in fact prefer to hug or console in one another,
why is that bad?
But I do think on a whole, alcohol should be used in moderation, why get polatic when you can just
stay tipsy? |
| |
| |
| |
OMG! Have you people ever lived. Alcohol drunk in moderation is fine! Alcohol gives you a laugh. I
would rather my friends drink alcohol than take drugs. But to be sensible! It must be drunk in
moderation =D |
| |
| |
| |
We shouldn't. Period. |

US Constitution Ammendment 18; ratified January 16, 1919 (verbatim in part)
Section 1
After one year from the ratification of this article the manufacture, sale, or transportation of
intoxicating liquors within, the importation thereof into, or the exportation thereof from the
United States and all territory subject to the jurisdiction thereof for beverage purposes is hereby
prohibited.
This worked so well that in 1933 we had...
US Constitution Ammendment 21 ratified December 5, 1933 (verbatim in part)
Section 1
The eighteenth article of ammendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.
Definition of insanity...
Trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. |

How silly. Are you so high, mighty, and righteous that *you* have decided that alcohol is evil,
therefore it must be banned "...in every country"? Why should your definition of evil matter to
thousands of grape growers in Europe, rice growers in Japan, or hops growers in South America?
So we should forget the medical and industrial uses of alcohol (isopropyl)?
Or perhaps we should do without antifreeze (methyl alcohol)?
Or ignore the number of studies that have shown that moderate intake of red wine can reduce the risk
of heart disease and stroke?
Again, how silly. |

Ok first of all, if you were to ban alcohol worldwide, u would never accomplish the task and the
time of prohibition would repeat. Second, crime organizations would suddenly become mad rich with
the sales of illegal alcohol
and third there would probably be riots |
| |
| |
| |
Yes, alcohol is really bad, bad for you, and can hurt others around you. But you know how many riots
would break out?
And plus they tried that before, didn't turn out so well. There was more illegal transportation than
ever. It was really bad. |
| |
| |

[sarcasm]
yeah, because that worked so well during the prohibition era.
[/sarcasm] |

Ban the substance that makes the government TRILLIONS every year in tax? You'll be laughed out of
the room. |
| |
| |
| |
There is no way that this would work without Heavily totalitarian measures.
Alcohol can cause many problems and does.
However if mediated properly, alcoholism can be cured and binge drinking can be discouraged.
Drinking is fun anyway |
| |
| |
| |
If you use alcohol in an appropriate way then what's the need? |
| |
| |
| |
I read somewhere Jesus turned the water into wine. Banning people from abusing things might be
logical. |
| |
| |
| |
I can see a thousand reasons for not doing so... |
| |
| |
| |

Alcohol shouldn't be banned anywhere. America did that, and a few years later, the stock market
crashed (this is not the cause, wait a minute). During the depression, and even before it, people
found ways to smuggle alcohol into the states. Does the name Al Capone ring a bell? What about
Scarface (same guy)? Illegal alcohol was sold at places called Speakeasies. Later on, alcohol was
legalized, regulated, and taxed. Soon after, America came out of the depression. Coincidence? I
think not. |
| |
| |
| |
Alcohol is only as bad as whom it is used by, its affects are determined by your self control.
Why do people think banning such things are valid solutions? This will only create more criminals
and strengthen the need for consumption.
And taking away alcohol is like taking away a right. If we ban alcohol, where will we draw the line?
If we ban everything that's bad for us, life would be as enjoyable as a math lecture. You must
remember one glass of pop is worse for you than one beer. |
| |
| |
| |
Even though I hate whiskey and such, I am not for a ban of it. |
