| There Is Still Too Much Racism And Stereotype In The World |
| While I'm not paranoid about being discriminated against, i still see racism all around me. I see people assume things about people because of their race. I know that stereotype came from somewhere but we will never grow up unless it stops. |

People usually keep quiet, but I'm sure MANY MANY other places of racial and stereotyping problems.
It's obvious that stereotyping is huge. |

Unfortunately, this is true, especially the stereotype part. |

I believe ConsLies said it well.
By using the word still, you have a hope that it will get better. I seriously doubt it will. No
matter what not everyone will subdue to the fact we are all equal. Adressing the issue is fueling
the opposing force of racism.
If there are heavy acts of discrimination, then of course we should act hard and fast. But racism in
general is all to common, and isn't blantant but more subtle. |

The growing up that needs to happen is for people to stop making it an issue.
Nazi's are still around and you don't hear about them being a big social concern. You know why?
Because they don't matter. Make a big issue out of the fact that they're still around, and it will
matter greatly. Next thing you know we'll have a Nazi problem on our hands again.
The idea that the issue will ever go away completely is what will make it an issue forever. This
problem can NEVER be solved. Getting pissed about it is about as useful as being pissed you can't
breathe under water without SCUBA gear. That will NEVER change either, but you don't hear people
getting worked up over it.
It is the people who focus on racism and stereotypes who promote the issue. In other words those
who go on and on about wanting to see the end of it, do more to promote it than anyone.
Think about it. Racism isn't exactly socially "cool" anymore. If someone is a racist (which is
their right and it should not be taken from them) it's not like they're going to go around letting
the world know they're racist. The exception to this rule is the mentally ill. But they're
mentally ill. It's not like anyone care what the mentally ill think about social issues...
...unless being a "victim" can be used to your advantage politically or financially. Those who do
that are also mentally ill. And again, no one cares what they think about social issues. |
