I would suggest that those who think that there is no proof for God's existence read the book "How
to think about God: A guide for the 20th century pagan" written by american Philosopher Mortimer J.
Adler. In this book he surveys the well known arguments for the existence of God, such as Anselms
argument known as the Ontological argument. This argument comes in two forms, both of them presented
originally by Anselm. There is a weaker and a stronger version. The weaker version says:
1. God is by definition an absolutely perfect being.
2. But existence is a perfection.
3. Therefore, God must exist.
The Stronger version says:
1. If God exists, we must conceive of him as a necessary Being
2. By definition, a Necessary Being cannot not exist.
3. Therefore, if a necessary being can, then it must, exist.
A necessary being is one that has no potentiality, only actuality, which means that it cannot
change, it did not come into existence and cannot go out of existence, it simply is existence. God
is by definition a necessary being.
There are many other arguments for the existence of God, C.S. Lewis, - the argument from moral law,
the argument from religious need.
The Teleological argument which is best demonstrated in William Paley's watchmaker analogy, in his
book natural theology. This is today often called the Intelligent design theory.
The Cosmological Argument, which goes back to the beginning and affirms that all finite things had a
beginning. The universe is finite, therefore it had a beginning. The universe had a beginning, and
anything that had a beginning must have been caused by something else. Therefore the universe was
caused by something else (a creator).
There is so much more, but we don't have all day.
I think I should just finish with a reflection which might change the discussion a little bit. The
truth is that we cannot prove without a shadow of a doubt the existence of God, however, atheists
cannot disprove the existence of God either. What can be done is to compile all the evidence and see
where it points. I should add that it is just as difficult, as certain philosophers have pointed
out, to prove that you exist.
It is at this point that it must be said that arguments for the existence of God are logically
stronger than arguments against the existence of God.
The majority of arguments against the existence of God come down to this essential outline:
1. Moral evil, and amoral evil(tornadoes, earthquakes, disease, etc.) exist.
2. If God is all good and all powerful, then he would and could destroy all evil
3. Evil exists, therefore God doesn't.
This argument however puts a time limit of God which is inconsistent with the fact that God is
eternal and therefore is not limited by time.
This argument actually is a fairly good argument for God's existence. Watch how we change it:
1. Moral evil, and amoral evil(tornadoes, earthquakes, disease, etc.) exist.
2. If God is all good and all powerful, then he could and would destroy evil
3. Evil is not yet destroyed.
4.Therefore, it will one day be destroyed.
In fact how can we know what evil is, if we don't have a standard of what is good to compare it
against - namely God.
Conclusion, the existence of God is logically more probable than his nonexistence. |

Nature is proof. Everyone who denies that there is a deity is proof for deity. Is anyone here going
to say that nature ultimately brought about nature? Then why reject the proposed explanation of a
non-physical being? |

God exists in the heart and soul of all who believe. Those who believe do not need proof. If you do
not, or can not believe in god, then for you god does not exist. Those of us who do believe, will
pray for you. |

|

I think it's really more of a faith that there is a spiritual greater being inside you, guiding you
and helping you through your life. I believe in God, but I need only proof that he is there from
myself. The greater being trusts me to help myself...and give my moral compass a push in the right
direction if I need it. I think the great spirit lives in us all, as opposed to a single entity
whose existence we can or cannot prove. |

|

Totally! Just look around you! He's keeping you safe, feeding you, and HE LOVES YOU.
NEVER THINK OTHERWISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

|

Perhaps there are countless proofs. A MAN CAN NOT EVEN EXHALE OR INHALE IF ALLAH ALMIGHTY DOES NOT
WANT him TO DO SO.
SO HOW A MAN CAN DENY HIS EXISTANCE. Its simply ridiculous and foolish to deny HIS existence. |
| |
|

It depends on what some people call proof. Some people can only believe what they see and feel and
are not willing to open up and truly see with their eyes closed without any fear. I believe God does
exist for the reasons mention below, plus more! Recently we faced a horrible tragedy, people cried
and cried, we didn’t think the parents of a deceased child would ever find comfort but through
prayer they began to find peace, this beautiful angel that left this planet left us to grow together
and support each other, leaving valuable lessons and unforgettable memories. God exist because the
day before her death He allowed us to spent one last magnificent day full of laughter and joy in the
park with our angel. :] |

Here is proof because its a MIRACLE to WAKE up every morning and and to be breathing and living on
this earth! |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|

Of course there is proof that God exist. The proof is all around us. The sun coming up every day,
the flowers blooming and the changing of the seasons are just a few things that prove God exist.
Simply because of the fact that you get better when you are sick or injured is also proof that God
exists. If you cannot see all of God's creation around you and if you do not feel the presence of
God in your life, then you are blind. God does exist and he is all around. He has given tons of
proof, but some people are just too idiotic to see it. |
| |
|
| |
|
|
|
 |
|
Not that I've seen or heard of, but then I don't care whether god exists or not. If you want god to
exist your level of required evidence is unlikely to be as stringent as myself. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Would you mind telling us said proof? |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
If there was would we really be having this debate? |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|

How does the sun rising or our ability to breathe PROVE anything. What you say is NOT proof but
supposition based on your beliefs. It is the same as saying a blackhole is a gateway to another
world until someone sees it and brings something back from that "other world" it is not a fact and
there is no proof. If you can't see it or see it working it isn't proof. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
All the "proof" of god (he, she, them, or it) is rather subjective - even if god does exist, it is
pretty obvious that there is no proof that god cares about us or any other parts of creation |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
There is no proof god exists, he is imaginary |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
So, Bubba. Lets see your proof from this outside source you speak of.
Tap.....Tap......Tap...... Were waiting. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
There is no proof that God exists! If God existed and loved everyone like the Christians claim, then
why does he let his people die of Cancer and AIDS, why does he allow wars to take place, why does he
allow the brutal slaughter in the Middle East and in Africa? Why? |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
The Big Bang, Abiogenesis and Evolution all adequately and completely explain the universe as it is.
No mythical "gods" are required.
The only way you will sufficiently prove that a "god" exists is by doing the magic tricks in the
buybull:
A) Bring a person back to life who died in a way that could not possibly have been a state mistaken
for death. For example, a five hour old decapitated (headless) body.
B) Create a 20 metre wide path across the ocean bottom from Cuba to Florida for a week, with walls
of liquid water on either side and NO means of the walls sustaining themselves in that state.
C) Suddenly cause ALL the world's deserts to turn to fertile grassland, ALL of the world's
rainforests to be regrown, and ALL of the world's glaciers and icecaps to return to their size of
fifty years ago. You have 24 hours to complete this.
It's time for you to put up or shut up. If you can do any of those three things, THEN you
will prove to me there is a "god".
If you CAN'T do it, then there is no "god".
If you WON'T do it, then stop lying. The fact that you won't even try means you know
there is no "god".

I don't believe Jesus came to anyone in the form of toe-nail clippings... And I haven't seen any
proof of God... I really think it's sad though... If this God exists and he loves his people he's
condemning a lot of people by hiding out. If he truly cared he would prove he exists... Therefore, I
do not believe in God... Plus the fact there is no proof that exists... And please no religious
comments... I think it's hilarious when someone is like look at the bible there's proof! It makes me
laugh, I don't believe in God, so why would I believe in that fairy tale of a book. |
| |
|
| |
|

No there isn't. Proof only exists in this world, anything outside this world cannot be considered
proof. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Sorry to say but if the 'evidance' is not of this world then it is not evidance. There can never be
any evidence to prove or disprove any God/Goddess that's the whole point of faith. |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
|
Sure, where is this proof? Present it. And keep in mind that "proof" doesn't mean empty claims, it
means real, objective, empirical evidence that would convince anyone that it's correct.
So come on Bubba. Put up or shut up. |

|

You have proof Bubba? If so, you should be the richest and most prosperous person alive to date,
since you’re able to do what no other living person has ever done. Also, what’s the “proof”?
You failed to elaborate on that part. |

Come on Bubba don't leave us in suspense. |
