There's a great article about Boltzmann Brains for anyone who is interested, maybe google it.
Descartes has a decent amount of fallacies, and I'm not even sure I'm here.
If I am here, then I think it's quite likely that I don't exist in the way that I think I do, which
puts doubt on consciousness and "What it's like" to exist in the first place. |

Agree with 1), disagree with 2). To take Descartes' Brain in a Vat thought experiment, the only
thing that we can be sure exists are our own Brains, whether it be in the body we perceive ourselves
to be in, or a jar in a laboratory, whereby our neurons are stimulated by electrical impulses to
simulate our everyday experiences. |

I’ll skip the preliminaries and just state that I’m pretty sure I actually exist. If you want to
argue that point then count me out. I’m way too old to mess with that one anymore.
Given that we exist then the mind is simply the physical mechanisms by which we emote, function,
analyze, and decide.
Oddly the lack of a clear definition of the soul for once is useful. It gives us leeway to define
what it might be. For example I feel there is more than enough room in the grey area of how the
various mechanisms of perception, reflex, instinct, analytic ability and emotive ability form a
synthesis of consciousness for a soul to abide. In this instance call a soul the indefinable margin
by which something may be more than the sum of its parts. |

I believe that the mind does exist, but the brain and the mind are two pieces of a whole. Think of
the brain and the mind as hardware and software; one is the physical application, while the other is
the process. One cannot function properly without the other.
I also believe that the soul exists, but more so in a scientific fashion where the soul is energy
and not simply some divine object. I have no clue where this energy comes from or where it goes, but
I feel that it does exist. |

Mind, yes. Soul, no. The word "mind", to me, is a way to label ones thought processes. On the
other hand, I really don't know what the soul is. I "think" the soul may simply be our ability to
think that we might have one. The soul could be a huge tautology. |

I have a mind with out it i couldn't image things or here my own voice in my head. That's a fact I
have a soul. That's a belief, i can not prove it but i believe. |

I agree with 1.) and 2.) because how else would we be thinking and have brains and 2.) yes we have a
soul........ |

Of course you have mind and soul not only is that scientifically proven its backed up by the bible
and if you don't think so just ask any christian or any doctor. How would you dream, think, and
imagine without a mind? How would you feel, have emotions, or love without a soul? |
