I read a book about various criminals (mostly serial killers and the methods used to profile them) and it seems many of them (at least the ones who have a sexual motive for the crimes) cannot relate normally to living, breathing people. Once they have murdered someone, they sometimes find it less difficult to be sexually stimulated. There are, of course, several other reasons. It's difficult to imagine what goes on in their minds. Good book though. Profiling must be both rewarding (when they catch the killer) with an adrenaline pumping since they are frequently working against the clock. Not something I could do though.
