There Is No Point In Arguing If The Bible Is True Or Not Because It Doesn't Change The Fact That It IS!
The Truth is something that can not be changed by an argument

Hello! Allow me to introduce myself! My name is... Gottfried!
The Bible is true. But let's argue the Authenticity? Because many are scientifically illiterate, but are there many who are Bucolically illiterate? Let's address this issue and open it up. Or are only us religious people ignorant for not knowing science? But no one knows Scripture? That's jacked.

The bible is true cuz god told certain ppl to write it for others to read and believe.

God didn't tell them that's just what they said to fool the foolish. They just took a bunch of non-fiction writings and decided themselves what gets put in the bible and what doesn't. Then a hundred years later they decided to change the bible, depending on what religion you believe in that is. Its all a farce!!

The bible is a SPIRITUAL manual of sorts so it should be understood in that context those who prefer to believe they descended from apes and fish should be allowed their beliefs what holds true for one man differs for another ,

OK, well I better agree then.

Why didn't someone come out with this point before, it could have saved us all a lot of time. I hereby announce that I am a fully fledged Christian warrior and the Bible is the exact world of god. Bring it on.

StBalders, I’m having a difficult time understanding the newly formed path of logic you’ve taken recently (if you can call it such). You’re behavior within the past few hours has been rather strange as well, compared to your normal personality and typing structure. Anyone can plainly see that the creator of this debate presented no valid argument whatsoever. The basis for this debating topic is something along the line of “I’m right and you’re wrong. That’s the end of it.” I simply can’t see how you, of all people on this site, would support such a baseless argument, whether it is religious or not.

But the truth can be found by argument. Any belief that cannot stand the light of discussion is a thin gruel of a belief.

Truth is never found in argument. Because argument is influenced by wit and how fast you can respond with well constructed wording to offset one who opposes your view. Argument is a relative composition. Define Truth. It is not so easy. Truth. Is it genuine? Real? How would you define real? Is real simply a perception that your nerves undergo? Is emotion just a reaction when particular atoms in your body swing a certain way? What is reality? What is the ultimate reality we all share?

All religions say that they're right, yet they all differ.

My theory: They're all wrong!

I respect people's beliefs, but each religion is as convincing as the next, with the possible exception of Pastafarianism.

Great argument dude. I love how you back it up with facts. You ignorant Christians. There's nothing wrong with your religion, just the people who think it's the only right one.

Such a self-righteous statement. Not only is Christianity a new book, (the koran and the torah), It's also denomination of judaism!

Christianity is jump off the old Jewish texts? The Newest Part is the New Testament. In which you are right it being new. But it is old as well. It is rooted in Jewish foundation.

The bible can not be true. It says that when Christ returns first the dead in Christ shall rise to meet him then the living will be taken. It also says Jesus told the thief who asked for forgiveness "this day you will be with me in paradise". So do you wait for Christ to return or do you go when you die 1 of them has to be wrong. Therefore the bible is wrong.

You can be with God in spirit, the thief being in paradise. Then bodily raised in a physical body.

I'm disagreeing with you, simply because you posed your question incorrectly. Yes, the Bible IS a real book. The question is whether or not the stories in side are real.

Bible isn't true! How can there be different versions and all be true, HUH! How can so many religions all be right. People need to wake up and realize this isn't the 15th century. There is no "Valhalla and no Heaven" we die and rot in a box! Oh but if you pray everyday and give your church the deed to your house then there is a heaven. Give me GOD-dang break!
MAKE LOVE NOT HOLY WAR!

I agree for the most part, except that when we die we don't "rot in a box".
I think the afterlife is whatever you want it to be.
and this isn't blind faith either. there are thousands of accounts NDE's(near death experiences).

Sorry, but, "the fact" it is true as you say, is absurd. If you can get God to come down and tell me he told the Disciples to write the Bible, then maybe it would be fact. Sadly, your point is based, rather precariously, on blind, narrow-minded opinion. The Bible is nothing but a piece of heavily influential fiction and perhaps a highly effective alternative to sleeping pills.
Its called the Christian "Faith" because by their own admission, figures of religious authority say that there is no evidence to support their claims. So stop wasting your time trying to convince other people that the Bible is "the word" of an invisible, non existent God.

well jakers if you were to actually look for facts in your argument, faith is belief in god, but the bible tells you to question everything. In other words people dedicate themselves in proving the bible's truth without touching the bible, i can tell you right now i don't follow god from "blind" faith, tho i will agree that many Christians do. But next time you want to try and sound intelligent, know the facts of both sides of the argument.

Like you said there is no point arguing if it is true or not so why end your question as if you are arguing it or don't use it as your debate topic.

Although I do believe the bible is a bible of truth but your statement is unfair. No the truth can't be made into anything but the truth, but the only reason ppl argue the truth is because they truly don't know it or understand it. It is bcuz of statements like this that makes ppl not want to understand!

What an entirely pointless debate.
Frankly, i think you're far to ignorant to understand that the Bible is a bastardized text, that it can't prove any of it's claims, and that your trust in the manuscript is irrational.

Yes, yes it is truly full of contradictions and unproven theories. The debate in this is where?

What contradictions and unproven theories? You make bold statements, but they have no value because there is no truth to them.

Hold on. So basically, you’re argument is “I don’t care what you say, I’m right and you’re wrong”? Well then….it’s kind of tough to debate against that kind of logic…

That's got to be one of the most idiotic things I've seen lately. "Waah, I don't care if I'm right or wrong, I'm just right, so there!!!"

Let us know when you grow up and learn to use adult arguments.

You employ the argument of a five year old child: "Because I said so!" Clearly that is your level of thinking.

The buybull is false until proven true. Bring Pat Tillman back to life after being dead for years - THAT would prove that a "god" exists. Until then, you believe in fairy tales.

When you become an adult, you will put away childish things.

I've seen a lot of matches with broken logic, but this is beyond any of those.
There is the no evidence that the bible is "the truth". I've seen it before. Obviously this statement was (for lack of a better term) programmed into you through parenting and/or endless hours of church.

False, i don't know how many times it has to be said, you can prove the bible is true without even touching the bible, as many people prove it everyday as the amount of people that disprove it. like i have said before. If you are going to sit there at your computer screen and say that there is no proof, then you obviously haven't used that computer to find out what the opposing argument may use for support.
