Religion is easy to debate because everything is so vague that it can be interpreted any way you
want to interpret it. Live a good life, be honest, and help others. Religion is only there as a
support group. |

Yeah. But religious ones tend to concern what some say is most important in life. |

Yes, there is more to life, but when you're talking about a huge group of delusional individuals who
believe in imaginary friends because it's comforting to think there's some invisible father figure
in the sky, you're bound to see a massive number of these debates. And since these people are not
rational to begin with, you'll never reach a consensus. |

Debates on religious issues keep popping up on this site because they are popular and tend attract
more responses and heated exchanges than most other topics. Many users are inclined to post debates
on this subject, because they are all but guaranteed to stir up reaction from others; something that
cannot always be said about the mundane and less controversial posts on this site. There is nothing
more depressing than spending time creating a debate on a topic that you are truly interested in,
only to find out that nobody actually cares. This is not likely to happen if you post on religion.
I would compare religious debates to McDonald's. They permeate the capitalist world in which we live
because there is a market for them. As with poorly-worded and ill-conceived debates on religion,
even while some Mickey D's branches offer poor service, people still seem willing to look beyond
this in order to get their Big Mac fix. |

People need to debate about the things occupying their thinking. The religion problem is a huge
issue these days. It will continue to show up until religion learns to behave itself. |
