There Is A Cure For AIDS. EDIT: Ok, I Give Up! The Word "Care' Was Just Used To Help With The Point I Was Making. Use 'Preventative' If You Like.
Don't do the things that cause oneself to get AIDS. It's as simple as that. The vast majority of AIDS cases result from illicit behavior. Behave properly and you probably will not have a problem. The rare case of a bad blood transfusion or a straying partner doesn't disprove what I say. The extreme case never disproves the norm. It might not be popular but you cannot deny that if with one partner, you are EXTREMELY less likely to contract AIDS than if you have multiple partners. NO, It's NOT gay bashing, it's common sense

Been posting a lot on HIV/ AIDS lately eh bugman? And to degree I do believe there are ways to cure HIV but they aren't the definitive cures of the disease. For example, if everyone who had HIV completely refrainded from having sex the virus would eventually die out with the people. However this could never happen and so I don't really consder it a cure. Another would be the isolation of all HIV positive persons, yet once again this could never happen with. So yes I do believe there are "cures" for the disease, but I don't see those being implemented any time soon, as they are rather extreme. Eventually however we may be driven to such extremes to counter the disease if it continues to follow the course it is on now

I'm sure one day there will be cures for all incurable diseases but in the meantime preventative measures do make sense. These measures may prevent AIDS, unwanted pregnancies, STDs, etc. The bottom line is using common sense in these delicate momemts.

What you have stated is not a cure but preventive measure. If you had said there is a way to prevent the spread of aids i would have agreed but what you have said is not a "cure".

Is there a cure for Aids currently? The answer is no but from what I can tell from research currently scientist are rather hopeful for a drug that will be on the market in 2010. It is apparently the most effective yet in tackling the virus. Around 16 years ago there was no way of controlling the condition, but look at what we can do now. Imagine what we could do in another 16 years. But you are right in what you say about common sense being the best preventitive measure in staying safe.

People are living longer with aids. I think we are capable of overcoming it, just the same as people can be in remission from The big C. Truth is we are all terminally ill and for some that just means getting older and one day we die. As long as we are here what ever we have hasn't killed us yet. So in a way we live with our diseases. Therefore i agree with the heading but disagree with the explanation.

 I maybe wrong on this but I thought Magic Johnson was actually cured of the virus. I tried to look it up can't find anything that says he is cured. Don't know?

That is not a cure. It is a prevention. A cure means you take it away from an individuals that already have it.

I find it highly unlikely that heterosexuals have had or will have only one sexual partner. I actually find it humanly impossible. Also given the fact that 75% of women admitted they had anal sex as least once. It says a lot about society and sexuality.

 I wasn't talking about what is 'likely'. I was talking about how not to get AIDS. Your point does not invalidate the logic of the debate.

'Humanly impossible? Really? That thinking shows alot about sexuality also. Are we rabbits that cannot control our urges?

We land a man on the moon and win a world war fought on two fronts seperated by two oceans and we can't keep our pants up?

Whatever happens and even if there is a cure, like most aggressive syndromes someone will always have it and/or will be a carrier of it unfortunately.

Well I agree with you almost entirely, but, and I know you will consider this nit picking; I can't make myself accept the term cure because it is obviously a preventative not a cure. Nonetheless you make some very valid points, even if they are points I would desperately hope we all here are already aware of.
