I agree that there is a inherited component to intelligence. But intelligence does come in
different forms; not all of which are testable by an IQ test. |

I think that there is room for such an argument, yes. I'm going to take Carl's point and develop it,
saying that I think that the Minimum Potential for intelligence is dictated genetically, but the
Maximum Potential is all down to the individual. |

You have not considered the nurturing of talents and the social, environmental and economic factors
(as Weller would say). A vast amount of intelligence comes from how far you are pushed at school. If
you become friends with the wrong people, you are unlikely to achieve your maximum potential and if
you cannot afford to attend a private school than it is likely that you will have a disadvantage
compared to other students. |
