There Are Too Many Pointless Debates Being Made, FAA Should Place Limits On The Number Of Debates That Can Be Made In A Certain Time By Members.
Look at all these debates, some of them point out the obvious and repeat debates that we have had before and I think members should be limited to three debates a day.

They should make a group where you can list it under as pointless
and while they are at it, debates that are repeted should have a group.
The top two on here are about gay's and god so they should have a group by their selves.

Yeah.
Like this one??
Only kidding.
:)
Also, I have done some debates, and then sometimes I get an e-mail saying "your debate has been deleted" because, it already exists, or it is a question, not a debate.

I totally agree. Not only are these type of debates annoying and pointless, they are pushing any good debates further and further from the first several pages of the new debates listed. I had to go back several pages to find this one and it was posted just two days ago. I thought everyone was gone from here, but low and behold, they are here just can't find anyone because the good debates are so far back on the list that I have to search for debates to respond to anymore. I think that a limit on posting would be a good start, but I have a feeling that some of these people posting have multiple avatars...isn't that always an issue? Perhaps if no one who actually wants to have an intelligent debate responds at all to these members, we will see an end to it. I'm all for kids using their minds and learning to debate is something that could be beneficial to kids, but not if they are just going to use the site to post childish, poorly worded, horribly spelled and repetitive debates. Maybe they will get bored soon.....my fingers (and toes) are crossed.

I completely agree....I'm looking for a knowledge enriching experiences, i don't want to debate about American idle of names of kids or anything that has no Brian stimulating chance.....NO BODY CARES ABOUT WHICH PETS ARE BEST OR IF A NINJA COULD BEAT A PIRATE (PS..the ninja would kick ass))

It shouldn't even come to that point. But most of the time people always push the envelope. People should be shipped to hellish countries to appreciate the freedoms they have, lol.

I agree. FAA should limit the amount of debates started by one person per day. It would help cut down on the spam and give others a chance to respond to the debates.

That's true. The surge of debates pushes the valid debates off of the front page of new debates and that makes it impossible to keep up with them unless one is willing to scroll through all of the debates to search for the good ones.

Yeah I know what is the point of asking what are the colours of the union Jack? Or of a maypole?
Then again, if someone posts really good debates, one after another there shouldn't be any limit at all.

The only ways I can think of to set limits so that the people who are posting well thought out and interesting debate topics would be to either having a some way of approving of the debates before they go up. That would be a lot of work for the site moderators though. The other possibility that has crossed my mind would be to have sections of the site that are kid friendly and sections for those older than 12, but that has problems too. There are some kids on here that demonstrate maturity and use more common sense than the ones that are posting these almost painful to read debates...the spelling isn't even close half of the time.

"Pointless" is a matter of opinion but I generally agree with your statement. If they could program the site to allow only 3 new debate topics from one avatar within a 24 hour period then that would probably be plenty of chances and would greatly cut down on the excess debates. Usually people throw out trivial debates because they're trying to get enough points to be high in the Buzz column (and of course that's silly because the Buzz column really doesn't mean squat - it should be he quality of your topics and arguments which really matters).

I agree that some people seem to focus on the buzz column. I think that some users also try to accumulate as many points as possible to advance quickly from Baby Debater and so on. The recent rise of these rather childish sounding and repetitive debates have me wonder if the person posting the majority of them is posting them to mess around as was mentioned in another response.

You're right. In fact the spelling is so bad I'm beginning to wonder if they are actually serious or just someone messing about.

Wow, these debates are frankly quite silly, along with whoever made them.

I know, it's putting me off using the site, I don't like the idea of place a limit but it might get rid of these stupid debates.
