I am a Buddhist living in the Western World and this provides me with an endless source of annoyance
and frustration.
So many people are completely ignorant of religions other than Christianity, which is dominant.
Besides just being totally ignorant, they are utterly closed to the idea of other beliefs.
People will avidly defend their dormant religion while asking why I am not bald, robed, and living
on a mountain top somewhere. Is this suggesting that you are an orthodox Christian? Do you attend
church every weekend dressed in your Sunday best? Do you go through with the day of rest, as should
be in Christianity? And, most importantly, are you a decent Christian? The chances are slim!
And how lucky you Christians are! A Bible can be found in every bookstore and a church on every
corner while I, the Buddhist, do not have such amazing gratifications. Most common bookstores, such
as Borders, do not stock a god variety of Eastern religious books. (Kudos to Barnes & Nobles who do
provide a slim selection.) I don’t have the comfort of escaping to a temple or a monastery. They
are not as common as you might think!
If I do manage to find a monastery I must use extreme caution, for Buddhism is very dangerous in
this Western World. Many fake teachers will take advantage of students and abuse them. Therefore, I
cannot simply speak to any teacher and take solace in knowing I won’t be murdered or raped.
So please, all of you Bible-thumping and dormant Christians alike; don’t mock my religion until
you learn something of it. Don’t be closed to new ideas and beliefs. And don’t take for granted
all the religious ease that you enjoy. |

Bible thumpers are the most hypocritical people i know. Religion is a way to control people. Its a
cult. A very confused cult. I know people who are so confused and hypercritical there having
premarital sex, smoke pot but refuse to work on Sundays cause its gods day, they hold there head up
high hoping that they wont ever be discovered. Now I'm not being hypercritical i smoke pot too but
I'm not claiming to live my life by the bible. This other guy i know is cheating on his wife of 4
years, who just had a baby. Him and wife are figure heads of the church and they judge me for being
gay. Are you kidding me???
I could go on for hours giving example after example of how hypocritical Christians and catholics
are but it whodunit make a difference, there minds are made up... There right I'm wrong.
In my opinion everyone should live there lives for themselves. Not for the church or god. Be a good
person have morals and values even behind close doors. You'll hold your head up high and be real
about it, and if there does happen to be a god hell know what your up to. |

Definitely too many. . . Idk this isn't much of an argument since citing specific instances isn't
going to change any individual reader's opinion, but i would have to say especially too many of
them. |

It is insulting and astounding by the mass number of people who claim to be a 'follower of God',
'Chrisitian', 'church-goer', 'Bible-reader', et al; yet continually judge another human, as if they
were God, himself. NO ONE on this earth has any right to involve themself in another person's
lifestyle or life, unless it is DIRECTLY harming you. Not offending you, but HARMING you! Quit
trying to play God and look deep into your own life and change your own sins. It is insulting to
those who actually LOVE like God wanted, instead of hate.
God didn't put us on this earth to judge for Him. He put us here with all types of differences so
we could learn to get along with someone unlike us. Do you really think He's laughing at us
fighting over issues? Do you really think you make God proud when you say you hate a person because
of their lifestyle or a choice they made? Would Jesus treat people the way you are?
No one knows what God really wants us to do because we're all still here and don't talk to the dead!
A book (Bible) is something to read, but it can be interpreted many ways, and no one faith agrees
with a different faith, so who says YOU and your opinions are right? No one can---- because you
DONT know!
You can only believe--- but your belief doesn't mean you can treat other people like crap and
judge their sins (ex. Abortion, homosexuality, sex before marriage, prostitution, etc) when your
sinning just yourself. There isn't sins that are hell bound for sure or unforgivable. God forgives
everyone, and since He does, you should too.... Your earthy you. Do you really think He's going to
allow you into heaven for treating people like crap? You can go to church and pray all you want,
but it comes down to how you treat another person.
We have a loving God and he expects us to do the same. How hard is it to just say... 'ok, i may not
understand it, but you aren't directly harming me by doing what your doing, so i'll just accept our
difference but i still respect you as a person.' ???

I agree with morallaw. Just b/c we bring up god doesn't mean we are holy rulers. You are such an
accuser. You have no idea what you are talking about. I respect tons of ppl who don't believe in
god. I don't treat them any different then i would another Christian. |

I am curious, why do people think one is a holy ruler just because they bring up the name GOD???
I agree some people can be quite hypocritical, but it seems to me most of the time people just don't
want to hear what really is wrong from right. Isn't that what God wants people to know? THe right
way? His way? Maybe they are only trying to help. This world certainly needs it and there is no
argument with that!
I certainly don't judge anyone for any sin or wrong they have done in their lives. " Whichever man
has no sin shall cast the first stone"
I think it is undeniable that the bible is clear on the fact that the only way to heaven is to
follow the 10 commandments, (we all have faltered, but must do our best)and Announce Jesus as God's
Son and our Saviour. We are also blessed as an individual, as a family, as a nation. When we do
this. Last time I looked and from most of the comments on this site, morally I would say our
country is going down the toilet. Sad.
It is a Christians duty to spread God's word and share it with others, of course in a loving way..
It is quite apparent from these forums many people are confused about what is right and wrong
anymore. Would it not be a sin to leave someone in the dark?? Shedding Gods light on a subject to
me is not being judgemental.
