There Are Too Many Debate Spammers
Debate topics should be carefully considered before being made public. Some people are just spamming 20 or 30 debates a day to get points and see their names up on the charts. Many of these debates are on ridiculous or trivial topics which the debate starter probably doesn't even care about. Often they are not accompanied by any kind of argumentation or explanation. Maybe they should introduce a limit on the number of debates any person can start in one day.

I agree on the limit of debates- I say two for anyone less than 500 points, three or four for anyone higher. But then you'd be spamming more to post more... Hmm... =/

Maybe Vice versa. Higher you are, less debates you post.

Spamming appears to be a major problem from time to time and the rapid posting of a series of frivolous debate topics detracts from those subjects that can elicit some very thoughtful responses. In fact, several of the debate issues raised earlier today are fascinating and should be read by many more visitors, yet the posting of ludicrous topics means that these posts have been relegated to the back pages of this site.

The problem is that when a small handful of users post a large number of debate topics within a short period of time, they cannot ensure that their wording or the explanation provided makes sense. Disturbingly poor grammar and a complete disregard for proper spelling make some of these topics incomprehensible. Those who post these types of debates would be well advised to realize that they are not likely to receive many responses, as few people have the time and patience to try and decipher a poorly worded and thoughtless post.

What bugs me are people who post debates and don't even bother to vote in them. If it's not important enough to make your own feelings known, why should anyone else care?

How would you know what people care about? Who is to say it is spamming to post a debate about, for example, that yellow is the most delectable colour in a box of Crayolas?

Maybe to someone else? YOU are the weak link in the debate chain.....
The worth or value of a debate is in the heart of the beholder.

I disagree. I am glad someone is taking the time to post different debates. They may be of no relevance to you, but I am sure you can come up with an opinion about each one. Honestly, I am sort of sick of seeing the same debates about abortions, elections, homework, illegals, and other juvenile topics. It is about time that there are some other topics. It really does not matter if it is a good debate topic or not or rather it can be supported by research. The main idea is to post your opinion and leave it at that. No one says you have to respond to every debate and I really don't think people care too much about points or seeing their name on the board. That is no big deal. I see my name all over this site. I think they should be more concerned with all of the poor spelling and grammar from many posters. I also think that if you cannot give an educated response backed by reason, then maybe you should not be on this site.
