| There Are Bigger Environmental Problems Than Global Warming |
| Let's compare.
Global warming
synopsis: According to environmentalists, the build up of CO2 will lead to warming, having many, many disastrous effects.
Reality: The effects of CO2 are highly debatable, and it is unlikely that a build up would cause any actual damage.
Yellow stone national park.
Synopsis: According to geologists, yellow stone is one big super volcano that, if detonated would kill millions, maybe billions of people, and seriously damage civilization.
Reality: While it's probably not as close to exploding as some geologists think, that fact is, nobody is debating the effects of an exploding super volcano. |

Of course there are— some environmental problems actually exist! |

Yes.
It is not global warming anymore, they now call it "Global Changes'...;-) |

What exactly is Global Warming again? I don't think we're using that terminology anymore. I
believe the new paraniod delusion is Climate Change. Yikes!
It is a fact that the globe has actually cooled over the last two years. Tough to cry about Global
Warming when the globe is cooling, right? That can only lead us to one "logical" conclusion - we
must fear Climate Change. We are in a time of flux. If we so much as fart in the wrong direction
we could cause an ice age OR we could cause the seas to boil! If we don't live exactly as the
environmentalist movement wants us to, we're all doomed or we've at least doomed the next
generation, and if not them then the next one, and if not them the one after that, and if not
them...
Not that I'm overly concerned about super volcanoes, but I agree with Grenache in the sense that we
should probably pay more attention to air and water quality. |

Hmm, I don't know. I personally don't doubt global warming is happening or that it could disrupt
weather and crops and flood major cities. But on the other hand it could take longer to happen than
we think and meanwhile we have horrible problems with pollution, drinking water supply, other
natural disasters, etc. IN THE SHORT TERM there probably are some problems which will hit harder
and sooner, but in the long term I still think we need to be concerned about the warming. |

Whoops; this is obviously posted on the "wrong" side; sorry!
Global warming is over; there have been no global temperature increases reported since 1998, and the
first half of 2008 was the coolest for at least five years, the World Meteorological Organisation
(WMO) said on Wednesday.
As usual, we are overreacting to something we can't control anyways a decade after the fact.

You have to be kidding me! Although Global Warming may be all exaggerated a wee bit, the reason it
is so important is because it's something that we as humans can actually help to avoid, unlike a
volcano. Besides, in the long run the effects of greenhouse gases are much worse than one volcano
eruption, and it takes ignorance to deny global warming these days. |
