NOT FOR ME!

If humans suddenly disappeared, it would only take a few thousand years before all evidence of us
came with us. That's nothing, just a blink in the age of earth. Everything is here for a reason, the
carnivores are here so the herbivores don't over populate and eat all vegetation, the herbivores are
hear to eat the vegetation so it doesn't rapidly over populate, the bugs are hear to help bring back
the dead animals to the earth and become nutrient soil so vegetation can thrive. Why are we hear? To
enjoy all that this earth has to offer. |

Better is a useless word to apply in this context. We do exist and we represent a new experiment for
evolution and who can tell what the long term ramifications of intelligence might be. Look at it
kind of like when animals first crawled onto land, the first ones where ungainly and ill suited to
there new environment but ultimately it worked out pretty well. Now evolution has crossed a new
threshold which may eventually allow life to expand to whole new environments in whole new ways.
Besides our impact on the environment seems catastrophic in the short term but the fact is that it
will be a miracle if the human race lasts anther 10,000 years let alone another 100,000 years both
of which mere blips of time environmentally speaking. The earth will be a fine verdant explosion of
life with no memory of an uppity bunch of monkeys that called themselves humans. |

If mankind had not lived in harmony with animals and tamed the environment, it is any body's guess
what it would be like now. I doubt if we would even be here let alone having this conversation.
What I would like to see is the human population living within the vague boundary, instead of
ruining those last remaining wildernesses. |

Okay.
If humans are bad for the earth,
Why did the lord himself put us on here?!
And what would the earth be without people?
Trees?
Grass?
There wouldn't be life!!! |

I find this quite funny you know. No offense, but who are you to judge? Your only human yourself.
How can you decide what is best for humanity. You cannot say this as you don't know what earth would
be like without humans so whats to say it wouldn't be a worse place? What we don't know, we cant
judge! |

Hey.. The guy that went for FOR, maybe you don't deserve it but we do. So stop with all your WE

I'm having a tough time deciding which box to but this in, but I'm gonna go with the AGAINST box.
I believe that a certain amount of us benefit the planet, but the majority of us do not.
However, I think that if there weren't humans, the world would be bountiful with animals. The
natural order would be disturbed. |

Oh, god, I hope this debate isn't a precursor to anything. If it is, the police are gonna have to
start being on the lookout for mass suicides for
the environment. |

Better? Better for who? The Earth might have a more diverse and sustainable environment on it, but
who does that benefit? In my view the environment has only instrumental value, that is it is only
important because it can bring pleasure to humans (who are the only creatures with moral value).
Unless the wellbeing of the environment has intrinsic value, I don't see how this topic can be
supported. And since I don't think it has intrinsic value, I don't support it. |

Not "better"... Just "different". |

The world would not exist without humans. We are the ones who make it run on a daily basis. Although
it is true that we are doing a lot of things to destroy it, we are also doing a lot of things to
preserve it as well. We plant trees, we breed and care for animals, we work hard on ways to improve
it so that it is a nice place. Therefore, I do not think the world would even exist today with human
beings. God put us here with intelligent brains so that we could watch after and care for his
creation. Animals and plants are not smart enough to maintain themselves. This is why man and woman
were made. |

We're humans and we make mistakes.
We weren't paying attention some odd years ago, and even if we were we didn't care. Right now we're
trying to help keep the earth safe, trying to "rebuild", or stimulate it to try and save it the best
we can. YES, still we're still building Nukes, guns, etc. And I agree with making those, because
there's not going to be peace without a battle. We're not bad for Earth, that's what Earth is for.
All planets are for life to roam freely and do as they please.
We're not bad for Earth, we're perfect, We're humans and we will continue to make mistakes and Earth
MAY continue to be hurt, but that's not for you to say anything on. Earth is here to live and die as
we do. Animals are here to feed us and DIE, for us. We die by animals, and animals die by us. It's
called a food chain, an ecosystem and our niche is exactly what we're doing. We can bounce back and
I hope we do. The Earth wouldn't be any better, or worse without us. Because you don't know what
would happen if we weren't here, you don't know what predators would take over an ecosystem, allow
others to go extinct, or what other animals might have not survived, or what other kind of crisis
that may occur in the future that places Earth in danger, like an Alien attack maybe?? Lol, you
never know.
BEZ. |
