| The United States Rightfully Claims The Moon. |
| Many Americans saw who saw the landing on the moon remember the astronaut sticking the American flag on the moon. We are the only nation that has been to the moon and now other nations are aiming for it. They could set up bases of their own without our permission. Other nations should ask the U.S. Permission and/or pay a fee to visit and use the Moon |

Nice job of debate, by the way.
I had not before thought of this idea of your's as presented above, but, it is true!
The Moon DOES belong to us: The United States Of America.
God Bless America:-)
Our flag DOES fly on the Moon. You gotta admit that.....it is true. |

Just like them caucasians... Stick a flag into the ground and they think they own the place... |

HOW CAN YOU OWN THE MOON??????!!!! It's crazy! |

The united states government has not said that they wish to control or govern the moon, so they have
not claimed it. |

Just because you plunked your flag down there doesn't mean you own the place. |

International law prevents any human nation from claiming the moon or Antarctica.
Your ignorance is astounding. You probably believe the illegal occupation of Iraq is justified. |

Never! That's absurd. |

I think we should all regard ourselves as a citizen of the Earth, not one of a country. Therefore,
we all "own" the Moon together. |

The moon should stand eventually as neutral ground. Under no one's ownership and the U.N isn't that
good of a group there only concern is money. |

Any country claiming the moon is a disastrous idea. As hidell said, there are some potentially
valuable resources there, but there were also resources in the Americas when Europe came over here.
What happened? They sent people over, killed everything that didn't help them, and were eventually
rebelled against and lost their colonies. Same thing would happen on the moon or any other planet.
If a colony is ever set up off of the earth, then a coalition of nations (the UN) should support it,
but not rule over it. It would eventually govern itself, so why go through all of the political
compromises and possible rebellions. Whoever can live on the moon or other planet, should govern
themselves |

Nobody owns the moon. And when another nation does land successfully the whole entire world will see
it was a very well thought-out hoax. |

Though it is a fact that America was the first one to land up on the moon but that does no way make
them the sole owner of moon. Moon is a part of our solar system and America has no right to claim
the moon. It is just that they have landed their before anyone else could. Since America has
advanced in many ways specifically in scientific research works and other related topic that is the
reason why they could possibly take a step to reach out for the moon but that can never make them
the rightful owner of moon. Today not only America, if some other country also claims the moon by
stepping there before America could have done then also the moon does not become the rightful
property of no country. Thus America can not claim the moon. |

No one claims the moon. Just because we were the first ones there doesn't mean its ours. |

It's debatable whether you ever went to the moon at all. Suffice it to see that there are plenty of
people who think you faked it. So first you would need to prove that you really went there.
Even if you could do that, it doesn't give you the right to claim the moon as your own property.
That's a ridiculous idea. There are some potentially valuable mineral resources on the moon. The
countries of the earth should decide in the United Nations how access to them should be divided up. |
