Yeah i think it is because of fast food restaurants like McDonald's. |

Yep I agree. If you just look around it is easy to see that is the truth. |

I would agree that the us is heavily overweight, I am a person that eats at McDonald's and I
absolutely love it, it's not any worse than eating anything else, now days you have a lot of
salmonella poison floating around to say, I am a short person so yes my weight shows up on me more,
I weight about 145lbs, its sad to say I'm fat compared to others by someones cheap opinion. Not to
mention that I am full blooded native American so yes that too makes me fat(Because of my culture)
but I'd tell anyone to their face, I could care less, I can accept who I am and how I look, if
others cannot, than that is their failure to get to know a great person. Don't hate me because I'm
overweight and I love fast food, do you hate people for running around with no weight on them? Do
you not criticize anyone for anything? Carry on Fat People!!! |

Most Americans are considered obese, it's probably because of all the fast food restaurants. |

As Americans, we are fat, and as Americans, we are poor. For many families, the only way to get
something to eat for dinner is heading to McDonald's, because that's all you can afford. From that
point on, the lifestyle of fast food lives on, and that's why the fast food companies can make so
much money. |

I agree
we are fat and lazy . We need to dop something about fat food ! |

I agree that we are an extremely obese nation. However, the availability of options at McDonald's or
burger king does not give anyone an excuse to be overweight. It isn't the fault of the fast food
companies that people in this nation are unable to make the right choices. Its kind of like blaming
the abundance of alcoholics on the liquor companies. No one ever wants to take the blame and maybe
admit the fact that they made the wrong choice, so they demonize an entire industry and say "they
made me do it" . |

I tend to agree and would assume that the reasons for this are mostly ignorance and greed. |

They are not fat because of all the fast food places, they are fat because of the culture.
The fast food shops capitalize on this. |

It can be shown objectively that America is the fattest country in the world. Statistics prove it.
However, I doubt it has anything to do with the availability of Super-Size options. Most likely, the
reverse is true. Fat people have big appetites. Therefore, conventional size meals are enough to
satisfy them, so restaurants are forced to offer Super-Size options to meet public demand.
In relation to the total number of meals eaten in the country, fast food super size options are
probably still not very significant. An explanation must be looked for elsewhere, therefore. |

Yes. American people are fat. They eat way too much fast food and their food is not very healthy. As
a result, Americans as a whole are bigger than other people from other countries. Americans also
have a lot of money to waste on fast food and junk food, so it is easier for them to obtain it.
Therefore, they are more likely to eat it, eat it often, and eat a lot of it. It seems as many
Americans do not really care about their health and their weight and they just continue to eat and
eat. Only a few Americans eat really healthy, but their culture makes that option very difficult. |

No you cant say that without using research in England there's actually quite a lot of fat people as
well so i'm not sure you can say that because yes Us and UK show more obesity levels because they
have access to McDonald's and more fast food than Africa etc but i don't think you can say that |

No. America is not fattest country in the world.

Yes us is the fattest, but that's a fact... I think we're something like doubly as fat as any other
nation. But it isn't our fastfood options, it's our fastfood choices, and our laxidazical behavior.
Convenience stores, convenience lanes, impulse purchase?? Are you kidding me? You can't blame
McDonald's for knowing we'd pay 30 more cents for 15 more cents worth of meat... We should be
thanking them for not turning it into a dollar per patty system. People are to blame. This idea
that such a glass ceiling exists that we have nothing better to do with our time or our money than
to get that filled-up feeling from bacon and grease? And fat and sugar?
Going to a different country won't help you escape your own tendency to eat that which you can
afford. Why Americans though? Advertising? Lazy parenting? Some grotesque association with the
word freedom? The idea of under education comes to mind. Temptation is just always there and we're
never encouraged to deny it. Or rather feel we should be discouraged before we feel spurned to worry
about denying it.
As if they making a new burger with eight patties would be a reason to whine about the new burger we
have no choice but to consume, consume, consume. Don't consume it. Nothing better for fat people
to model themselves after than the masses who know better than to indulge temptations that aren't
valid modes of progress. Everything goes better with bacon? Really? Even the truth? |
