The US Government Should Sell Off Assets To Get Out Of Debt.
I get tired of the Feds pumping billions and billions and billion (may I say trillions??), to save this or that or to bail out this or that or to win this war or that war. It all falls on the backs of our children, and what they will end up with is a bunch of IOU's that they can't pay off. What will happen is (actually what is happening) we will become a rather poor country, with a much different standard of living than we now enjoy.

It is like pouring money down the drain. These people are throwing money around like drunken sailors.

(continued)

The politicians will be guaranteed their pensions and health care with cost of living raises as well. What the US government needs to do ASAP is to start selling off assets, like Federal lands, buildings, resources, etc. That is what every other "bankrupt" entity must do. The next thing to do is to eliminate all lobbyists and lawyers.

lawyers are not bad. They guarantee the rights of the individual. Lobbyists on the other hand are plain out corrupt and horrible. They almost guarantee that this representative will vote for this causing things that may not be actually helpful to be put into our society.

Let's first stop spending so much on things that our outside the purview of the responsibilities of the U. S. Government. There are many. We could start with Public Television and Radio and continue on.

Ha, maybe we should sell Alaska back to the Russians - Pallin says she can already see them from her window anyway. And then she can campaign to take Putin's job instead.

No, seriously, although I'm not against selling something the true problem is the way we spend our money (especially our borrowed money). You have to plug the hole in the boat before you start throwing heavy stuff overboard or else you might throw your life raft out by accident too and be stuck with just the sinking ship.

We could sell LA and Hollywood! Good point on plugging the leaking hole first.
